Someone PM'd me, saying I am the "Mrs Cake of the AH." I don't know whether I should resent that. Of course it's meaningless to those who don't read Terry Pratchett, but who cares what they think. We all know what they say about those people.

Hi MG,

I don't know Mrs Cake from Pratchett's books, but as soon as I saw the thread title, I thought Og's hat had got married. ;)

Lou

Ok, please refresh my memory. I have read all of Pratchett's books, but the name rings no bell. Who's Mrs Cake?

If my cake got married, his wife's head might be very loose on her shoulders.

Welcome back MG. I've missed that cheeky butt.

:rose: :rose: :rose: x 4

Isn't Mrs Cake the lady who takes in Angua when she first comes into the Watch? She's psychic and she keeps forgetting to switch it off......I hope i'm right or i'm going to look a right plonker!

Best be on the safe side love, I should resent it if I were you just in case.:D

Welcome back!

Dear Pop,
That's the approach I usually take, so I'll take your advice.
MG
Ps. ELady correctly identified Mrs C. Knudos

You are wise.

Welcome back some more, MG. Listen to Pop. He has people skills.

I believe that the person who PMd me was making reference to the fact that everyone dreads Mrs Cake showing up. Sound familiar?

No. We want MG back and on form. We haven't had a four foot BM for ages.

Dear Og,
I doubt that I shall ever again mention such awful things. I have seen the light and mended my ways.
Piously,

Nothing less than five foot BM's in the future, is it, MG

Dear Virt,
I note that you have nine posts, so you must be new here. The subject of fecal output in excess of a meter is one which is held in considerable reverence by veteran members of the AH. I do not wish to bandy legs here, but perhaps you would do well to research the origins of the subject.
Pedantically,
MG
Ps. How are you on garderobe lore?

Hmmm... hard one.. I got sic out of ten.. Now I want to know what were the answers to the ones I got wrong! *grr*

Ahh, thank you... I missed that the first time around. Also got seven on the second attempt cos I missed Carpet People in the First Novel q.

Cheers ! xx

4 out of 10. I do have two Pratchett books somewhere around here, but I guess I could actually bother to read them sometime. :)
Dear LH,
I'd advise against it. The more times they are read, the more diluted becomes the concept. If everyone read them, there would hardly be anything left for anyone else. I hope that clarifies the issue.
MG
Ps. Thank you, Perdita. You know, of course, that there is an important character in a couple of TP's books named Perdita X Nitt, nee Agnes.
Pps. I just made an assault on a B Daulton and spent almost $250 on everything they had by Pratchett in paperback. I'll make it back in reduced wear and tear on myself and my car making trips to the library.
