Okay, so I want to burn cd's that can be played on anything, not just a pc.

Supposedly, I have to save them to wave file format from MP3?

HELP!

:D

i think the answer may depend on the software you'll use to burn the disc. what are you using?

When you start Nero up, select "Audio CD" in the guide, and then just drag and drop the mp3's, and it'll converte the mp3's for you.

Are you sure your CD player doesn't play MP3 CD's? Most modern players can recognize MP3 and some can even play WMA.

You can only burn about 18 songs on an Audio CD. If you burn an MP3 CD you can put upto 150 songs on a single disc. Try this:-

If your songs are not in the MP3 format, encode them using QCD Player

Then open Nero and choose Data CD as the disc you want to burn. That's it!

Keep in mind that most CD players can only recognize the first session of a CD. So you'll have to burn it all in one go.

So if I've downloaded as MP3's (paid for) it will automatically record to CD as a wav?

Nope, it will record to to an audio format CD as a CDA (CD Audio) format file. It's just easier for Nero to convert WAV files to CDA than it is to convert MP3 format.

Most of the CD burning software today will burn MP3s to an audio CD in one step. The software will to decompress the MP3 file to its full length then burn it as an audio track. Older computers and software were not fast enough to decompress AND burn otherwise you will get Buffer Under Run errors, thats why then, they will only burn from WAV files. WAV files are not compressed so it was merely stripping the file info and laying it down as a CD track--a much faster process.

a lot of todays portable newer CD players will also play mp3's without converting to CDA. just copy the mp3's to a disc as data files.
