Is it possible to change an MP3 file into a MIDI? Just wondering for a little project of mine.

There is really not a way to convert it directly, MIDI is a note based file, it holds individual notes of a song where mp3s are digital conversions of sounds and contains no musical note information. You could find a musical score for a song then put it in a midi sequencing program, but not really a way to directly convert.

Carnus is correct that the different concepts of MP3 and MIDI are incompatible -- I don't know any way to record voices in MIDI format.

However, I'm sure that somewhere there is an audio editing program that can do at least partial conversions of instrumental recordings or possibly convert a recording to a Score that can be fed to a MIDI composing program.

What you're looking for is probably out there, somewhere, but isn't likely to be worth the search (or expense once you find it) unless you're heavily into processing audio files -- It would almost have to be a custom professional grade program that does far more than what you need; with a coresponding cost.
