Wow. There's lots and lots of Creative Zen choices at Amazon. Why, oh why, can't this be simple?!?
Because then people like me would be out of a job. ;)

Fair enough. But it's a pain for people like me who have to research everything to death. I've narrowed it down to definitely wanting a flash player, so now I only have a few dozen choices.

See, this is why you need me. Lemme do my thang, and narrow it down to one:

You're welcome.

Thank you. :) I had that bookmarked as one of my choices; I was hesitant because of the battery. The whole rechargable battery that can only be replaced by the manufacturer thing is kind of a bummer. (that's one reason the ipod went off my list). The controls on it sound great for the price, tho.

Then maybe this is better. Exactly the same machine, but with standard batteries.

I just got an ipod Nano, 2gig a while ago and absolutly love it. I got it to replace my ageing Rio which at only 64 meg was just too small now (it was big when I bouth it years ago). Now I wish that I had got the 4gig, I'm a little surprised at gow fast I filled 2 gig.

I got a dock for my car which charges it and allows it to play thru the car's stereo. The dock transmits to the car's stereo on several different frequecies so you pick the one that works best and use it. Or it also has a jack to plug directly into the car stereo if your stereo has an auxiliary port. My new stereo does and it sounds much better this way. (Especially with the new speakers and subwoofer I put in a while ago. :nana: )

I picked the ipod because I have an obscene amount of songs on my iTunes account and I just liked the way it worked. I cost a little more but for how much I use it it was worth a few extra bucks.

Okay a follow up question (or two):
I'm still curious how big a deal the battery issue is.
Also, I use itunes for my puter. Is that going to cause me untolds amounts of trouble if I buy a non-apple mp3 player??
