alright anyone have any bad moving stories to share. I need something to pick me up and let me know that right now isn't the worst move of my entire life!

I moved about 2 months ago

the move itself went fine - but the delivery of the new refridgerator took an extra 2 days! We bought a split level house ( or upside down house as I call it) and they Sears truck pulled up - took one look at the stairs and drove off! Not a word spoken - got a call a while later that said they needed a 4 man crew for the job.

2 days later - 2 guys from Sears show up - take the doors off the fridge then carry it up the stairs - after cancelling the other two guys! They had it in place and running in no time - except the water hookup for the ice and water dispenser.

Turns out if there's not a shut off valve they can't be liable for hooking it up incase it leakes. No problem - hubby can do that he's done it before.

He gets home to do that - and turns out the hose isn't connected to a water connection up in the attick anywhere! I got the most expensive fridge in the world I think - and no water or ice. So add another week before that gets hooked up.

It also took almost a month to get our digital cable hooked up as well - they kept having to come back - change out boxes, reconnect wiring, then the computer hook up was upstairs in the game room - not where we want my husband's office - so we run wiring ourselves across the attick, down the outside of the wall. So took almost a month to get cable tv and computer's hooked up - we did complain enough that we got the month free!

Otherwise the move went smoothly. Nothing broken, nothing lost (that I know of yet!)

well indeed that is a hassel delivery guys can be mean. Especiallly if they only see a woman in the house. I had one guy say he wasn't going to carry something up the stairs then I started lugging it myself he helped.
