I'm new here in this forum but have been role playing in srp for over a year. Noticing that there have been some very good stories that have developed there. I was wondering if any of these rp stories have moved over into the story section and if they would be acceped there, if all parties that were in the roleplay story agreed?

so my question has two parts
1.Has this been done with any sucess?
2.if it can be done how would one go about it?

I did that with "Dice Fishing."

You can't move an srp as is into the story section. While the SRP might be great, when you've got multiple players all writing from different viewpoints your readers are going to hate you.

You must take the posts and edit them to work together as a whole, solid story that has flow, plot development, a protagonist and an antagonist. That's the bitchy part. It's nigh on impossible to write a good short story where there's more than one protagonist and that's what everyone wants their character to be.

My experience was a bitch because I had to correct grammar and typos and meld several different voices into one. I'm not doing it again.

For a while now, I have been working on developing a "full" story baised on a SRP I had with two other people. I have decided to "dedicate" the finished story to the other two role players who helped me to form a very interesting story, but as I said I am writing a "full" story so I shall be adding a lot to it still.

Thanks for you coments and contributions Killer Muffin and BlessedBe.

What about a romantic love story where two players just seem to meld unconsiously and compliment each other. a sort of give and take. Neither one trying to dominate the thread. somehow I have this feeling that two can be better than one in some cases one bringing out feelings that the other wouldn't even realize were there until prompted. The power of sugestion sort of.

First of all, you're welcome :)

Secondly, I have written a story with another person. I wrote the opening, gave the story to him, he wrote a few paragraphs or so, and gave it back to me until we completed a story.

Also, there are "chain" stories where one author will write ALL of part one, then another author will write ALL of part two, etc. (If you look on this board, you'll see a thread by Chicklet called "Chain story sign up" or something similar to that.)

I have done too, my partner and I found it a good way to express feelings in a third person arena sort of a buffer. found it a good way to express feeling by using the third person story as sort of a buffer. In a virtual role playing situation where both parties know very little about each others personal lives it becomes more of a challenge to get a sense of feel for what the other person is at. By trying harder more can be gained. not always true but when it happens its magic. Most of the time when I role play I'm trying to feel the other players out rather than just express my indivdual feelings. Or dominate the story. I dont mind not being the main character.

My "Craving for Cock" series was actually wriiten by me but with two female partners who wanted me to help them live out their fantasies. They would describe what they liked and I would write the part, then they would comment. Of course I wrote myself into the story as well. Not only was it one of the hottest things I did (from my perspective while writing it), but the readers gave it pretty high marks as well. I am about to post an old SRP (fixed up) that I did under another name. I'm not sure what kind of scores it will get but for me it was a very sensual encounter with a terrific writer.

Update

I tried it. Took one of the hottest SRP threads (for me anyway) and posted it. So far it has much lower scores than anything I wrote by myself. I'll finish it, but doubt it will get much better as far as scores go. If you are interested here is the link.

Dangerous Liasons - Ch 01

This was a tough story to read.

'Jake returns to the scene of the crime.'

Now everything is from Jake's point of view. Then, just when I'm getting into the story . . .bam!

'Melody returns.'

Then, everything switches over to Melody's point of view. Back and forth, back and forth. On top of switching POV's, the tense switches between past and present. By the time Jake and Melody came, I didn't know whether I was coming or going.

The story was a neat experiment, but it left a lot to be desired as far as flow and character development is concerned.

oops

To anyone who read my post before I edited it . Thsnkd for your contribution Erlikkhan.
cool story but very predictable. dont know that the conversion from srp to a single story has much to do with it's value .

Couture. I understand what you mean, about cuming and cuming together. lol the former might be heavenly but the later is devine. thats one of the challenges I love to play with, when role playing, to blend my part so well that each post compliments rather than contradicts. (unless the story calls for it, of course).

There are people who, however, really enjoy reading unedited 'game logs'.

My first story experience on the net back around 90 or so (been online since 88) was the logs of somebody's Dungeons and Dragons game. A story called "Navero" about a priest who just couldn't stay alive or dead...

I don't play D&D, but I had fun reading it and noticed a few other game logs like it over the years that were enjoyable reads. In fact on some RPG boards there are whole clique's devoted to posting and reading these logs and competing over who had the most interesting games...

EDIT:
Just for kicks I tracked down Navero:

It was written from 89 to 95 from the looks of it. Looks like I missed all the issues after 90 or so. There's a lot of stuff like this on the net.
