Bottomline: If you enjoy John Irving novels or the Eliot Rosewater series by Vonnegut you'll really enjoy this black comedy about incest, suicide, and family loyalty. Great acting and wonderful visual tricks.

4 out 4 easy.

I loved The Royal Tenenbaums. I was disappointed that it didn't get more Oscar nominations. Gene Hackman, at the vry least, deserved one. The scenes where he takes his danger-averse grandsons crousing around NYC was a hoot!
I thought the best movies I saw in 2001 were Tenenbaums, Ghost World, and Memento.

There's a girl in a local video / movie poster store that's a dead-on twin of the black-haired girl in "Ghost World." I wonder if it's intentional?

Caroline, that scene where the kids and Royal steal milk is adorable. Yeah, I said adorable motherfucker.

No, I have not seen this enjoyable movie about white people.

You have to see it soon. I think even the She Dog would enjoy it.

She dawg? You mean one of the fine ho's from my stable?

LOL!! Chuch..haha!!

Ben Stiller and his kids in their ol' school Adidas sweatsuits craacked me up. I'm pretty sure I was laughing the whole time during that one.

I'm dying my hair blond, loading up on eyeliner, and taking up smoking in tribute to this movie.

That settles it. Now I have a purpose in life.

(they come and go, my purposes)
