I ride and I am tempted but that is short notice for me, and my trip to CA last month cost me too much and I am trying to recover from that.Nefarious said:Sparky? Comshaw? Who else rides? Is anybody catching the World Superbike event in Monterey? I can't be the only one.
Nefarious said:I'm sorry to hear that, STG. The World Superbike/AMA Superbike event is more than just races. It's a gathering of the Ricky Racer crowd that rivals Sturgis for the Harley crowd. Cannery Row in Monterey on Saturday night of Race Weekend has to be seen to be believed. The cops block all 4 wheeled vehicles from the waterfront, and the resulting cruise is like a rolling museum! It's like immersion therapy for a bike nut! I tried it in '97, and it's drawn me back every year since then.
I would probably go if it was closer or I lived down there, but while I find sport bikes interesting, especially the tech, I am more of a classic/vintage and adventure bike type person. I went to Sears Point for VMD and that was nice, but I can see sport and race bikes locally. It was fun seeing the classic/vintage bikes race though.Nefarious said:I'm sorry to hear that, STG.
