Question: Any bikers out there?

I have in my possession a black leather vest (Alter Ego) is the label inside. It has a bunch of Harley Davidson patches all over it.

Anyone know what it might be worth?

It might be a women's vest. It might not.

There is no name on it. There is a Kansas City Chapter of the Harley Owners Group on it. A bunch of membership patches for different years and a couple for some rides they participated in. I found it on the trunk deck of my car when I came out of the Walmart. It was night. I looked around, didn't see any motorcycles about.

I have contacted the gkchog via their website, but haven't heard back from them.

Not a "biker" but i do ride. Posting pics of the patch(es) on the pack would help as well as if their is a nickname on the front above the pockets if it has pockets.

YOu could also call walmart to see if anyone has been looking for their cut.

Divided by a common language. In the UK a vest is an undergarments, what I think you call an undershirt. Conjures up a different image altogether. :)

With someone else's patches on it, not much. Even taking the patches off will not get rid of them as the stitching pattern will still be there. Notifying the club is good. Notifying Wally World is also good. How someone could lose a vest in a parking lot at night is a mystery. You don't normally take a vest off until you're done riding.

If it was a cool night maybe the bikers made a stop to buy a warmer shirt or jacket and forgot the vest when changing. They will want it back. Check the lining closely. I have my name and phone number inked into all my leather but it fades with time.

Yeah, no name or nick on the vest. Only patches deal with the HOGroup. I emailed them several days ago, though I might of heard from the group already. I much rather get the vest to the owner. But if all else fails...sell.

Yeah a vest here in the colonies is quite different...look at TxRad's avatar, he's wearing a vest.

Oh, you mean a waistcoat ?

That may depend upon who you're with ?
Or what you're doing with her ?
:):)

Sounds like a bit of a plot bunny, working out the reasons for abandoning a leather waistcoat in a car park. Hmmm.

EDIT: woohoo, got inspiration for my Winter story now, a variation thereof at least.

Glad I could help.

The vest is called a Kutte, German for vest, or cut, for when the sleeves of a denim or leather jacket are cut off. I don't think the person belongs to any particular club, or it would be sewn on somewhere. It appears it's just a Harley rider who forgot to pick it up after taking it off and putting it down somewhere. Any of the patches might have a location on them to tell where the person is from.

The name of the club - Harley Owners Group or HOG for short. Actually, the Greater Kansas City Harley Owners Group. I have already contacted the Group via their website. Still waiting for a response.

I'd hang on to it. They'll contact you eventually and the owner will want it back. If they stopped in the lot and swapped some clothes (falling or rising temps) I am sure they are nutty about returning it. I lost a great pair of well broken in riding gloves a similar way earlier this year. They never turned up again. :(

Probably just an abandoned Halloween costume. Hard to tell. Every day appears to be Halloween for Harley riders.
