Today in UK, it is Mothers' Day, so to all you mums out there, I hope it's a good one.
Here, the UK is once again bathed in glorious sunshine, cloudless blue skies, mild breezes. It's been an absolutely stunning spring week, the kind of weather that lifts the spirits.
This morning early, I called my mum, and told her to keep her eye out for a delivery (balloons - they last so much longer than flowers). Then I opened the card that arrived on Friday from Mat Jr.....bless......then my wonderful wife cooked me pancakes for breakfast. Just when I was thinking about getting on with chores, a phone called from eldest sprog, asking us for the quickest route to our house from the bus stop in town.....I decided it was easier to just go get them....and I'm presented with a bunch of the most glorious flame orange roses, and one of his usually irreverant cards. We had coffee, looked at photos, then all loaded in the car to take him and his wife to one of the nature reserves nearby for him to take his first spring photos. It was quite a trek from the nearest bus stop, along narrow country roads with no footpath. I can see another phone call later, asking for a lift, but do I mind? No, of course not. Then Mat Jr. called while Min and I were on our way to the nearest Macdonalds for greasy goodness lunch. When we got home, I called him back for a long overdue chat.
The wife is now outside cleaning the car (!!!), while I have cleaning to do ready for our next landlord's agents check (just to make sure we're not trashing the place).
All in all, it's been a good day, productive, full of love, smiles, sunshine and happiness.
Perfick.
Happy Mothers' Day.
