Mensa's word/numbers game made me think of some more puzzles and brain twisters I have seen. Here are a few fun ones.

Palindromes

1. a female sheep
2. a baby wears one
3. paper showing ownership of land
4. used for defense against aircraft
5. a joke
6. eskimo boat
7. the sound a tugboat makes
8. an exclamation
9. another exclamation
10. you see with it



Decipher the following "fractured phrases" (normal sayings that have been slightly changed)

1. Understand the cords!
2. Scissor something from its place.
3. Final drinking tube
4. Peruse words below one line but above another
5. A blue jay in the fist is twice as valuable as one in the shrub
6. Winesap of one's oculus
7. Verdant from coveting
8. Recapture one's respiration
9. Confront the tune
10. To heap disparagement upon a wound
11. To be maintained in the total eclipse
12. Initial items at the beginning
13. Absence of sound is aureate
14. Anguish adores association
15. When the elm topples, there it will remain
16. Diversity is the seasoning of existence
17. Dial immoral acts do not constitute moral propriety
18. Oily ladle
19. Immature around the breathing apparatus
20. Put more combustible fluid on the blaze

Well, now, don't I look pretty with egg all over my face? ;)

This is what I get for teasing someone else about their spelling/typos (sorry Mensa!)

Weird Harold PM'd me with his guesses, most of which were correct. One stood out - it was really amusing and very clever on his part. However, it pointed out to me that I made a typo.

#17 should be dual not dial! Hope that helps.

I'll wait awhile to give others a chance before I post the answers.
