I'm feeling patriotic.

Great beer, broads and sports.

Beautiful scenery, we're clean, safe and pretty.

Our contributions to the entertainment world have been positive for the most part.

We don't like soccer. Our sports are exciting. Except curling. Which is more like darts.

We beat any other country, hands down, at anything substantial.

Quake before the mighty might of Canada.

Now, where's my maple leaf.

This is an entire country north of Buffalo?

Actually, no. I believe that parts of BC, Ontario and PEI are south of Buffalo.

The problem is that when Canada doesnt say anything we are accused of beeing to complacent. when we do comlain we are called whinners.

fuck it. If we are gonna get made fun of we might as well complain and get something

Gretzky was whining. Wait til we get back to the NHL. Someone with his stature in the sport does not need to lower himself to that level. By the way, how many fights did he ever get in?

Amen, Phoenyx.

Still, remember that Gretzky included the Americans in his justified rant and "whine" (seriously, when La Céline does it, it's a fuckin' whine, not Wayne, though) but I have to admit - and this after watching too many fuckin' McDonald's commercials and watching him shill for Tylenol - I have more admiration for Gretzky speaking his mind the other night than I've ever had for him before. Maybe I will hold on to his rookie year card a little while longer...

Canada is

better than any European country. Still not better than the U.S. But a close second.

Which is funny and all but ignorant.

Aside from the modern things like poutine there is a rich canadian heritage in food preparation. From Salmon to Tortiere. The fact that it hasn't caught on in the land of Denny's isn't my problem.

Don't shake the nitro-glycerine.

We actually prefer that the world regards us as meek, mild Boy Scouts who wouldn't and couldn't hurt a fly. We have a very long fuse but if you ever manage to anger us, we not only get in your face, we rip it off!!!

Our history is littered with people who made that mistake, but most people don't know Canadian History.

Canada???

Been there, done that, absolutely love it!!!

And go figure, I'm an American... One day I may have to change my status from Yankee to Canuck. :D

Another American backing quietly out of the thread....

We should let Canadians enjoy their moment in the sun.....

After all..... they get so few....:D

I love Canada! Been to Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Ottawa, Quebec City, Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise, Penticton, Williams Lake, Niagara Falls and Calgary. Loved every bit of it, and there's still so much more to see.

However....

As talented as all the Canadians in the entertainment and sports field are, why do most of them wind up living in the US? Even the Great One's wife is a Statesider.

I considered moving up north many years ago, but couldn't collect enough "points".

The only thing that really disappointed me in the gold medal game was Mike Richter being "beaten" by Martin Brodeur, but I think it's because of the Ranger/Devil thing!

I like to consider both Canada and the USA as "Americans" (North Americans).

LMAO, yes, that's right. We live in the dark ages....with igloos and outhouses. But at least we're not crippled by small snow falls like Texas is :D

We're underestimated so frequently:) But it's cool....it's the silent ones you gotta watch out for. Ever seen someone laugh at our military? :D

Voyageurs.

William Lyon Mackenzie.

John A. MacDonald.

Wilfrid Laurier.

William Lyon Mackenzie King.

Pierre Trudeau.

What else is there to know? You're current Prime Minister can't speak either of the official languages.

During peacetime, everyone laughs at our military, including us. Once the real shooting starts, the laughing stops!

Oh I know....and I am not mislead by our military. We just don't like to boast and brag as the US does. I just find it funny to see anyone laugh at it, when they really don't have a clue

Canada could have had French cuisine, British culture, and American technology. Instead they have British cuisine, American culture, and French technology.

The beer is good, though.
