WASHINGTON – A political shift is beginning to take hold across the U.S. as tens of thousands of suburban swing voters who helped fuel the Democratic Party's gains in recent years are becoming Republicans.

More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.

Third, the only two concrete examples they provide are a man who switched not from the Dems but from the Libertarians (in other words, he was already in the "not a prude, just selfish" stage) and a woman who thinks canceling student loan debt is "socialist". Almost every case I've ever heard of involving an "I used to be a Democrat but..." has had the "but" followed by something that made it abundantly clear the Democrats were better off without that person. No change here!

Libertarians have largely been on the side of the liberal left over the authoritarian right, until recently when the left went full blown "EVERYONE must do what WE say, fuck your democracy!!!" authoritarian.

I left the democrats.

And like millions of others ya'll will be better off without my vote.... in all 6-8 states and maybe a dozen cities you'll be left with by the time you chase everyone who isn't woke enough out of your party.

Reality is without knowing exactly where all these people are it's hard to accurately gauge the impact.

I agree. I think just short of some truly baddy McBad shit going down in the GOP congress, the Democrats are going to have to do some serious self reflection if they want to compete in 2024 too. If they don't stop being woke lunatics, things are just going to keep getting worse for them outside of like 5 states and a dozen uberplex metro shit holes.

Democrats don't reflect, they double down on their attacks and heat of the rhetoric of their serious charges; they pride themselves as "the educated" but they rely on the votes of the mouth breathers and hands out for handouts.

Then the beatings of democracy will continue until morale improves.

I.e., they are campaigning hard for the votes of people too stupid to protect themselves from pregnancy, even though they probably have that vote already locked down as a hand out...

With what looks like the biggest red wave we've ever seen coming this Nov. it seems a lot of people are rapidly growing un-enchanted with the secular religion of Woke Totalitarianism.

What about the voters who switch from the Republicans to the Democrats? Each party is an uneasy coalition of groups that disagree with each other, so voters are always moving back and forth.
