It seems that somebody is posting stories on Fictionpress.com without permission and without proper author credits. If you're an author, you should check for your stories on that site.

Y'know, it occurs to me that it might be beneficial to the site for all of us to allow Laurel and Manu to sell reprint rights to the stories here. Can you imagine how profitable the site might become? It'd most likely make things more worth thier time to read all our submissions.

I kinda doubt Boxlicker or I need worry. They don't seem to have a Smut category.

I don't put copyright notices on my stuff. (I'm personally against any and all intellectual property rights on a fundamental philosophical level. But don't get bent: just because I'm an anarchist doesn't mean I go around raping and pillaging.)

I think it would be great if they packaged and sold stories to better fund a free site such as this.

You might want to try (and buy, I'm glad I did) the Literotica Book.

I haven't found any instances of my work being stolen. But then, I've only posted 5 or so stories so far and they've only been so-so. Why steal Why steal a kindergartner's drawing when you can have a Picasso?

Because a lot of people know who Picasso is and will pounce on your ass so fast, Fictionpress won't even get the chance to ban you?
Perhaps instead of a copyright, I should just put a warning in my stories: "Beware of Rabid Fans".
But I loves them so

I just took a quick look and everything I saw was either PG or G rated. Not only was their no Smut category, nothing erotic or adult or anything that might be using my stories.

From all appearances, the story was not taken from Lit, although it is possible that the thief does know of Lit.
However, I think unless you write romance stories, you won't have to worry. I dunno what she was planning. Did she think with her lack of English skills she could have managed to edit my story? Granted there was a good deal of room before she would have to try, but she didn't last a day.

Fictionpress is a spinoff of Fanfiction.net, who removed everything over an R rating some years ago. Both are well-run, friendly places.

I've written two stories that are classified as "Romance" but all that usually means is that they are longer and the smut is concentrated in the second half.

I didn't see any of mine yet, I did find the search feature though. But if they changed the story name I hate reading through 1243 fantasy stories to find my top ranked story Chooser of the Souls under another name.
I'll keep checking with the search feature for other stories though.
