Was the clerk [black]?

Duck Dynasty star Jase Robertson was kicked out of New York City’s Trump International Hotel after a staff member apparently thought he was homeless. Robertson laughed it off and said he was the victim of “facial profiling.”

...

“One time, we were in New York City and people put money in Willie’s coffee cup,” he said. “Dad was speaking at a church once and one of the members showed him where the homeless shelter was.”

The Robertsons said they were “absolutely not offended” by the incident and said they love staying at Trump Hotel.

“We were laughing — wait until the Donald hears about this,” he said.

And for what it’s worth, they hope the staff member doesn’t get in trouble.

“He was just as nice as he could be — escorting Jase to the park,” Al said. “And honestly, if I was in his shoes — I’d have done the same thing.”

Where's Oprah?

Someone needs to learn how to handle not being recognized...

Jesus Loves You

A&E had the competition ducking for cover Wednesday, as its redneck reality smash “Duck Dynasty” kicked off its new season with a whopping 11.8 million viewers — the largest audience ever for a non-fiction cable series.

The show about a Louisiana family also set an A&E record as the biggest telecast in the network’s history in all key demos.

In adults 18-49, “Duck Dynasty” did a huge 5.0 rating (roughly 6.3 million viewers in the age group), up 26% from last year and a higher same-night rating than any series telecast on television since an April 15 episode of NBC’s “The Voice.”

The only cable reality show to ever draw more adults 18-49 was TLC’s “Jon & Kate” in June 2009 (6.5 million).

Among adults 25-54, “Duck Dynasty” drew 6.3 million viewers to top the previous cable reality record set by “Trading Spaces” nearly 10 years ago.

...

Thanks in large part to “Duck Dynasty,” A&E ranked among the top five cable networks in both adults 18-49 and 25-54 for the second quarter of this year — rising 17% in both categories — while placing sixth in total viewers (up 19%).

“Duck Dynasty” was far and away the No. 1 program in all categories, including adults 18-49 (7.51 million or 5.9 rating) and total viewers (13 million), according to live-plus 7 Nielsen data.

Sharia don't like it!
Rawk the Casbah!

It works the other way, too.

Around here we're fools for folks who talk smack and got no credentials or relevant executive experience but have the right sex or complexion.

At least them redneck boys can shoot straight and run a profitable business without speed-learning cattle futures and getting into no-lose real estate deals...

I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I watched Duck Dynasty for the first time on Wednesday. It’s so popular in our area that it’s almost considered unpatriotic if you can’t carry on an intelligent conversation about the Robertson family. In fact, so many people at our church watch the show that I’m beginning to think we belong to a cult. My own son has been seen running around Wayne County wearing a Duck Dynasty t-shirt (causing me the same consternation Captain von Trapp felt in The Sound of Music when his children were seen hanging from trees in Salzburg wearing clothing made from old drapes).

Wednesday night A&E aired the long-awaited season premiere of the hit reality series. The Robertson family, operators of the Duck Commander business in West Monroe, Louisiana, began their fourth season by celebrating the anniversary of Phil and Miss Kay, who were married before a justice of the peace 49 years ago.

Phil told the judge, “We got our blood tests here that proves we don’t have any venereal diseases.”

The judge answered, “You got good, clean blood. You want her?”

“Yeah.”

To which the judge answered, “Give me $15.”

“That’s the best $15 I ever borrowed,” recalled Phil.

That’s no girl’s idea of a dream wedding, so Phil and Miss Kay’s daughters-in-law decided to throw them a surprise ceremony to renew their vows.

This episode viewers were introduced to another brother, Alan, a (gasp!) clean-shaven blond who arrived to officiate the ceremony.

Willie said, “It may be weird to call the pastor the black sheep of the family but that’s what he is. The perfectly shorn black sheep of the Robertsons.” He added that “the smooth-faced man of God has a black belt in purple nurples.”

...

Miss Kay: “From the time I was 14 years old, we’ve been through some good times and hard times. I loved you when we were poor and you were not so nice. Now you’re really nice and kind. All I can say about that is, I’m not going anywhere.”

...

Phil continued, “Let’s see, Miss Kay. We’ve been running together since we were teenagers. The old blue Chevy. Si in the back. You’ve cooked me many a good meal. From your loins came four healthy, godly men. You are my best friend. And I love you dearly and I’m going to be here for the long haul until they put me in the ground. Good?”

Miss Kay: “Perfect. Our family is living proof that love can get you through anything.”

Before Phil could kiss the bride, Uncle Si interrupted: “I’ve been with this man all his life. It’s almost like we was brothers. I was in the back seat when these two right here went out on their first date. Here’s what I wish for you all, OK? I ask God to bless you both of you ‘cuz I love you and I know He does. And that you have a happy life together.”

Miss Kay giggled when Phil kissed her, and Pastor Alan closed the ceremony with a sweet prayer.

Is it any wonder America is in love with the Robertsons? Strong marriages, family values, faith. All the things missing from nearly everything else on TV these days.

Rednecks are the last breed that are OK to make fun of. I guess it 's because they are a stereotype and they know it.

The difference is they know it and don't care when people make fun of them.

Imagine being a stereotype and not carrying a chip on your shoulder. Not willing to be offended at every turn.

Others could learn from this.

Nor are they out proselytizing or engaging government to make people do things their way...

;) ;)

Saying that about Obama and Clinton is racist and misogynist.

I was thinking its a scam. The paper tried it with an all girl management/editorial team, and had to fire all of them. The goddamn paper was just too nice, and no one read it. Although I confess that prom gown angst and vapors over acceptance to Dartmouth keep me walking the floor most nights. If people weren't so crippled from years of exposure to the other crap no doubt gay news and doings at the local private academies woulda been a huge success.

People love those fucking duck dynasty dudes. Politicians should study them, because for a lot of people that's the american dream right there.

"Smile, when you say that,"still holds.

No one wants to read, or watch, good news.

That has been proven repeatedly...

That depends on what you consider "good news." When I read about the state of TX or of FL putting some heinous criminal to death. I consider that to be good news. If CA ever does it, I would consider that to be good news too, but most people on Death Row in CA will die of old age.

For most of the NE, it's Americanistan...

To the rest of us, the NE looks like Europeanistan...

Go away and leave us alone and we will be happy to leave you alone.

I know two boys on death row. One's been there for 30 years. He's crazy as a shithouse rat, and is there cuz he cut up two old people with a knife. The other cut up a woman when she gave him some attitude about fucking her young daughter...the daughter helped him and is in prison for 20 years....her time is almost up.

There's no dispute over their guilt. No one has the balls to argue they didn't kill in a cruel and depraved way. No one disputes their insanity. I knew Alvin from the time he was a skirt, and he was always crazee. Adam was abandoned by his crack whore mama, and lived on the street. But so depraved none of his kin wanted him around for any reason. Keeping them alive rolls the dice for some bleeding heart liberal gal to release them to slaughter again.

Why are Journalists so Liberal (Leftist)?

;) ;)

The last sentence of Bedard's article is probably the most important. After noting that the average starting salary for a journalist is about $10,000 less than the average starting salary of college graduates in other fields, Bedard concludes:
Which may explain this statistic in the 75-page survey: Nearly 28 percent regretted their decision to go into journalism.
There have been far more wannabe journalists than there have been jobs for them for several decades now. It is a skill set with a large personality component rather than a body of knowledge to be mastered. Thus it is not a job that requires an expensive degree, especially not an MA in journalism from one of a handfull of schools. These degrees serve more as screening devices. Who but a driven kid whose parents are willing to subsidize them enters a field where a MA is often required to get in the door, entry level jobs are almost impossible to find and the starting salaries are very, very low? These conditions help enforce the liberal orthodoxy. With so many people willing to take your place, you can't afford to rock the boat, especially not when you are still at the lower levels of the profession.

Hello, I'm Wat, and you may call me what you like. I don't think I made a decision yesterday.

Wait, yes I did. I decided to go to supper with 2 guys I know, and 1 of them was fussier than usual. He always blames his fussiness on me, so I wind up being an innocent victim.
