More plaigiarism ?

That site is notorious for scarfing up stories from here. They have lifted five of mine and even list me as the author, even though I didn't know the site existed until I ran across it on a Google search of my pen names.

They have a "copyright & complaint" link but so far I have been unable to get anything done about them removing the stories.

I just searched for oggbashan.

Apart from the usual places I found many mentions of my stories, sometimes just the start of them, and odd references such as:

Copyright Oggbashan east indian hardcore June 200. The author asserts the moral right art of cherokee indians to be identified as the author of this work.

I also found my story Brobdingnag translated into Hungarian.

Funny you guys mention it. I've just done a quick search for some easily recognizable phrases from my stories and found this site, erolove.in, stealing my chapters (or at least one of them). Not only did they grab my stuff straight off Lit, preface and all, they even removed my pen name and used "sexstory" as the author.

I've asked Laurel to kick their butts, so if you find yourself being robbed as well by those jokers, give her a shout.

so what should YOU do if you find your stories on other sites? I write for Literotica, and all my stories are here, but I searched and found a few other sites now hosting copies of my most successful stories (in terms of ratings) and one has lifted an entire series. What can I do?

For starters you can accept that you have given the story away for free on an internationally accessible site and that this is a "whack a mole" situation--you can maybe whack one stolen version off the Net, but two more will pop up. If you don't want to accept that, don't post your work for free access on the open Internet. Because that are reality.

That's pretty much the ballgame.

Its why I practice ignorance is bliss and never look to see where my stuff is. I've already given it away so who cares its here or somewhere else?

How can I remove stories from Literotica?

I have a publisher for one of my stories. How can I remove the one I posted on Lit? I've looked at all the FAQ's but don't see anything on it.

Thanks

Re-submit the title with the word "delete" after it. Put delete in the notes field and in the box where you would copy and paste the story.

It will be treated as a submission however, so you will have to wait a few days for it to go away.

resubmit it with "delete" behind the title and also note in the Notes box that you'd like it to be deleted because it's being publishing to the marketplace.

I rarely look for my stuff, either.

I rarely look for my stuff, either.

I exercise due caution when looking for my stuff.

It ends up on the most virus-infested sites, and on unsuitable ones that steal my stories to provide content.

Why would anyone running a Japanese anal-fisting teen site want an oggbashan story?

Because they were obviously looking to add some class!

I don;t think the story lifting bots have a rhyme or reason for what they take.

The last site I did see my work on was not only malware infested, but they only had the first page of everyone's story.

A couple of months ago I was amazed to be contacted by someone from Lush stories who said that someone was trying to post my "bound for my daddy" story. Part of their process is to search the title and they found me on lit and the other person had a different pen name and they asked if it were me.

I answered no and they replied within a couple of hours saying they rejected the story with a note to the author that they were aware it wasn't theirs.

Imagine that, a site that has a staff and checks on things!

What I wonder is how often the reverse happens? I wonder how many stories are here that other authors(not the site itself of course) lifted and put here as their own?"

And they're beginning to see what sort of problems popularity brings.

On Nov. 08, they jumped from a 16k global rank to 5k, overtaking asstr. A couple of weeks ago, one of the story verifiers was on the forum pleading for mercy with new submissions until after the holidays. Their average queue jumped by 4x.

They don't have a "staff" much larger than Lit's, really. The verifiers are drawn from the membership pool, and are volunteers. They even asked me, but I was smart enough to tell them I'm helpless without my editor :p

With that comes all the problems of having people you don't really know in control of content on your website.

And 4-bombers ( the scores are even more inflated there, and anonymous voters can't vote lower than 4 ) and crazy people posting malicious reviews on Amazon & Ripoff report, chasing down members and harassing them on and off site...

It won't be long before they have to start making those hard choices between quality control, site upgrades, etc. and continuing to provide the service they've promised to authors as well.

They're #2 in the market now, and it's becoming a whole different world.

well in any business success brings about its own headaches.

I have not posted there simply because of time constraints and have no idea on their scoring.

As for the amazon bashing that has happened here I remember seeing a couple of threads on it. Its part of why I have multiple amazon pen names and no links in my sig.

What I found attractive about them when I looked at their site is they have a true no rape rule. They have a reluctance category that is just that, reluctance, not non consent

They have a rough sex category that can be as rough as anything you can imagine as long as it is consensual and they will ban true rape stories. So for my particular stances it is nice to see that rule upheld rather than the pure hypocrisy that it is dealt with here.

But again I only have so much time and not sure I want to post on another free site.

But I can see how they got to number 2 and not to be an asshole, but the way this site has declined in many functions and features over the last year or so I can see it giving lit a run soon. Which may be a great thing as it could wake this site up if it had some competition.

Edited to add another decent feature there is their boards are heavily moderated. There is no GB trolling BS over there. On the other hand their boards did not seem to have much traffic when I checked them out.

Umm...I think it was Lush stories I am talking about. I could be thinking of that UK site that someone came here from awhile ago. Jeez I'm getting scatterbrained.

They have four of mine...two that were pulled more than three years ago. I registered and was going to put a comment on the stories but even though they have a comment box it doesn't work...or maybe it's because I call the site owner a thief.

ETA:

Well I was wrong, the two that I pulled oh so long ago just have a title, no text, associated with them.

I also took a look at the Wife Lovers section...it a scrape of Lit's Loving Wives.

Back three years ago when I found mine stolen for the first time and was upset about it the same thing happened whatever site it was the comments did not work nor did the contact us link.

And as Ogg said many of them are virus riddled pits so I am not sure what the purpose of taking the stories even is.

Well, I didn't even see any adds on this site. Nor did I get any alerts from my virus software or Chrome. So what the point of the site is, I don't know.

Don't know how often it happens, but it does happen. A couple of months ago, a reader informed me that one of my Lit. stories had been reposted to Lit. under another name. (I didn't catch it; someone else did.) It wasn't me who did that, and obviously the poster didn't realize that I post the same stories I post here on another site or two under a different name (because Lit. wouldn't let me have that name when I started posting here). Reported it to Laurel, and the story and account were gone within a day.

I do occasionally get a query on whether I knew my stories here were being posted elsewhere under a different name--when that is me posting under another name. I thank them, though, because they don't know and walked the extra mile to ensure I knew.

Wait, someone took one of your lit stories and reposted it to lit? That's ballsy.

Then again we just had that thread that accused-well it was proved-that an author here had done the same thing.

I just don't get what anyone gets out of that on a free site. Not that I condone stealing, but if someone took a lit story and tried to sell it then you could understand a financial motivation, but what the hell do you gain here?

You'd have to divide almost everything you write into halves because they have a 10k per installment limit, and if every part of the story doesn't have sex, it can only go in the "Love Stories" category. So, if it doesn't qualify for that, there's nowhere to post it.

The site is heavily stroke oriented. There are a few people who like deeper stuff, but they're few and far between. I get way more reader response to that type of stuff on SOL despite the vastly lower traffic.

That's the reason I'm signed up there under this name. It's the type of stuff I write as RR that flies there. Everything else quickly vanishes into obscurity.

EDIT: If you think the theft on public sites is bad, you should see the stuff that's stolen on membership only sites. I've had multiple contacts from a place called FetLife reporting my stories being stolen and claimed by people there who were basking in the praise of their "awesome stories"

The stories got taken down, but the member is still active, and they deleted my account I'd created to check up on it.
