"Can you listen with your full being? Not simply to words, but to the meaning behind the words? Can you listen without judgement, without censorship or comparison? Can you listen without analysis or classification, without the filter of your ideals and conclusions? If not, then there will be no true communication."

OK, then

I am not enlightened. I want to be enlightened. Right now, I am too busy telling my remaining students what the must do in order to clean the lab. A clean lab is a safe lab, and a safe lab is a happy lab.

Onward! Forward! March! :D

yep :)

Telling someone what to do, however reasonable, is never listening, Riff.

No. 1 rule of listening - never tell anyone else what to do.

Sexy-girl, can I put me ear to your chest and listen to your heart-beat?

I'm a good listener.

Well, then... how to get the work done? They are not going to lay about in a messy lab surfing the internet like me!

And nobody really has to do anything. I merely give them choices. They chose to clean.

That's different, Riff. No harm in asking people to do things - as long as you are prepared to listen to them if they say "No".

I imagine they'd do anything for you Riff, anyway. Tell Them that freesorfr, reckons they're a fucking lucky bunch having you as their hero.

~blush~

They know I love them. But they also know that the alternative is far less desirable than the work, that a job well done will result in precious rewards. Smart little buggers.

Animals listen this way. They're not all fucked up with censorship crap. They often tell you what they're thinking just with their ears. Somehow, that makes them listeners to me...better than most humans.

riff - I try to do everything with my entire body.

It makes life so much nicer that way.
