This is difficult for me to ask about because it is an issue i have had for years, mainly because I have bipolar disorder. My mood swings can be pretty wild but I have noticed that my hormones are affecting them. I get real weepy which I never do...at least when things are normal. Has anyone else heard of this?

Dear NiteSiren: I haven't made it through my period without crying in years. Normal, normal, normal. Hormones all have evil twins too.

I have heard of this. PM me if you'd like me to elaborate some. :rose:

Hey! Happy belated birthday!

It starts right before my period too...along with awful nausea. I also have been seeing an alarming trend where my cycle comes only every two months. I also get these pains in my side...sharp and intense.

Hey! Happy belated birthday!

Thank you

Having crossed the road from testosterone to estrogen, I sympathise with the hormonal cycle cis-women have to put up with :rose:

I can relate because I suffer from horrific pre-menstrual disorder. It's to the point where my doctor prescribed me prozac that I take two weeks leading up to my period, and a day or so into it. Before I began the medication (which I'm only one month into, but I can actually tell the difference), I would be extremely emotional, sensitive, I'd take everything personally, and I'd flip out on everyone for the dumbest reasons. There's no harm or shame in speaking with your doctor. And personally, something that really helps me is to just lock myself in my room, listen to music, blog (i have a music blog on tumblr) immerse myself in a good book/porno/etc and just focus on that. Good luck :)

You should definitely talk to your doctor. I'm wondering about those sharp intense pains. I know some women get them when they ovulate, but that should be about a week after your menses, not just before. Could you have ovarian cysts? I'm wondering if something is causing your hormonal imbalance. Is this new or have you always been this way?

Honestly, I'm a guy so I can't blame a uterus but I have big mood swings. Exercise and anti depressants help a great deal. Just being aware and watching what thoughts I give energy helps too.
