Montrealer's Thread!

New Year's Eve

Merry Xmas to all of you ....

What are your plans for new year's ?:)

Anyone thinking of spending it in a le Celeste or any other "swinger's" club ?:)

LOL ... yeah I've tried to scare it but it kept falling... and then the snow remover machine (déneigeuse???) greeted me with more to shovel

Those déneigeuses are the bloody spawn of Satan. Gods, they're so vicious....

DId you yell at them?

And risking that the man driving it become over-zealous? Noooooo... I run, run, run....

Brrrr.... who said Montreal was a safe place?

And we're the idiots that are up here :D

*snort* Oh they will... slowly and surely in that moment that is spring :D

And the snow keeps coming! arggh

The best we can do, is shovel to the right as we face our houses from the street, at least they will a bit less to push back into what we just shoveled out.

Good morning DDgirl (not the same morning, but morning all the same - well, nearly). Good morning everyone. And a fine one it is. :)

Not from Montreal, but have fond memories of the place when I have visited. Will be visiting again in April, and look forward to enjoying the city. Any recommendations on restaurants to visit arou downtown, especially for some unique food experiences?

Mesa 14 is pretty good, if you like Mexican. The Upstairs (on MacKay) is phenomenal, although you'll have to make reservations on weekends if you want to stay beyond 7.30 (it's also a jazz bar, featuring live music - although, if you want to be entertained by the McGill's Jazz department, go on during the week). Anything on Crescent is pretty decent. Also, Irish Embassy (Bishop's, below St. Catherine's) has great pub fare, so does McKibbins (below Maisonneuve).
That's it off the top of my head.

Oh, while I don't really like chains, Les 3 Brasseurs is really fun, plus their beer is great (it owns a micro brewery)

Salut all.

i love Mexican - and last time I was there, I visited a Cajun place my partner suggested. But thanks for the recommendation.

Now - what would be a nice "date" place, where you can have some privacy, with some music and where you can make-out, or close to :)

About half the restaurants in Montreal? :D

The Firegrill is an okay choice, depending on the room. However, it's not a place for vegs. Upstairs has great music, great ambience, so that might be a good choice. I guess it depends on how much privacy you're looking for :D
