all the invoices and payables have to be in to accounting by 4:30. At 5:30 they lock the door of their room, and don't emerge until everybody else has gone home.

what no one understands is that it only takes a short while for the two pencil necked geeky guys; the heavy set matronly woman; and the string bean flat chested coke bottle glasses college intern gal to do the data entry. then the computer and printer take an hour to process print and sort reports, while the 4 of them just wait in case there is an error, and then to do the final closing routines.
