Wales `a dumping ground for oddballs and misfits'
A senior Plaid Cymru (Welsh Independance Party) figure believes Wales has become a dumping ground for England's oddballs, social misfits and dropouts.
Vice-president Gwilym ab Ioan's words have fanned the flames of the anti-English row in Wales.
He said outsiders are driving locals out of rural Wales by forcing up house prices and taking jobs.
He said the vast majority of those moving to Wales are retired people who become a burden on the local economy, the unemployed or sick and social dropouts from English cities.
He also compared rural Wales to Montana in the USA.
He said: "Montana is the dumping ground for oddballs, social misfits and society drop-outs. Wales suffers from the same phenomenon."
The politician warned if action is not taken soon Wales will be "so full of foreigners in our own land that our voice will be drowned out forever along with our language and culture".
He said, although there is nothing wrong with foreigners, Wales had passed the critical mass it can support and its language and culture are wilting at an alarming rate because of the influence of the "alien culture".
