Yep.

I write monsterfucker smut for a heterosexual male audience, and I am very much in the minority in that space. Most Beauty and the Beast presentations are not for a primarily straight male audience. The Shape of Water might have a male director, but the target audience was primarily female. Because like, obviously. And when we make the jump from romance to porn, those percentages hold.

I agree that the majority of teratophilia is actually not the big scary monster assaults woman (or man). Sure, you have big "scary" monster on human stories, but a lot of them are wonderfully consensual and domination-heavy. There was one I read recently, and I'm bummed I can't remember who or I'd link it, but it was a woman and her dragon mount, very sweet.

Monster girls are fun, too. Similar dynamics, but with a nice tone shift. Ironically, monster girl on guy tend to be more non-con/dominating than actual monster on woman. Lots of femdom in monster girls.

And there are tons of monster-fucking subgenres, it's a wonderful space for really creative creatures and sex. I'm always excited to come across something I've never heard of before, or something custom. I feel like I've learned more about mythology from monster porn than I ever did in school And I've for sure gotten some Jeopardy answers because of it.
