Looking for info about this risk. I have read that it is prevalant in the gay men and bisexual community......does anyone know how risky it is or is not? can you get it from blowing a guy?

I'm from Canada and the news here has been recently raising this as a growing concern as all Canadian cases have been in males from I'm gonna say early 20s to mid 60s. They are making a connection to the gay/bisexual male community as being an at risk group.

Monkeypox has become a widespread issue because of skin-to-skin transmission including touching items contaminated by the infected person.

  • Monkeypox is transmitted to humans through close contact with an infected person or animal, or with material contaminated with the virus.
  • Monkeypox virus is transmitted from one person to another by close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials such as bedding.
Like AIDS, it is not something that sizes up a person to decide if they are gay or bisexual. Until GOP develop that virus every unvaccinated person is susceptible. Maybe gay people are quicker at reporting it?
