Monday Night at the Emergency Vet

I am so very tired today. I spent a good portion of my night at the Emergency Vet Clinic. While taking my dog for our nightly stroll around the neighborhood another mutt came out from nowhere and attacked my dog! I fought to pull my dog away, but not before the other creature could inflict some damage.

I called Animal Control and reorted the animal. It was a very very skinny black dog not much bigger than mine, and had a collar that was way too tight on it neck. He had a rope attached to his collar that was dragging and appeared he had chewed through it to gain his freedom.

My dog has a small puncture wound just above her ear, and on her neck, she also has some scrapes and a couple more wounds on her left front leg. She looks so pitiful limping on her leg and clearly in pain. The vet cleaned her up, gave her some antibiotic and sent her home.

She'll be fine, but it just pisses me off. I'm not mad at the other dog, I'm pissed at its owners. How can people be so mean and careless? This dog is a product of cruelty by it's owners.

I am sorry to hear about your dog. I hope she feels better soon.

Of course you feel bad and angry now, but just think how bad and angry you are going to feel next monday night!

It is very sad about the other dog. What is wrong with people?

As a side note I am addicted to that "Emergency Vets" show, which is what I thought this would be about when I opened it. It has me on the edge of my seat every time.

That sucks Dawg. I'm so sorry. That happened to me once when my Dane thought another dog was going to go after me. The other dog charged and my Dane pounced on him. They tore eachother up pretty bad before I was able to get the hose and separate them.

Scared the shit out of me. Give her lots of lovin and pig ears. lol
