Mommy Thread

Oy! Ha. I wouldn't mind a parenting thread actually, as long as no one asks, gee I walk around naked with a collar and my kids are asking questions! What's up - why won't they live and let live! Ahem, Fetlife.

Ok, I'm exagerating.

Not by much in some cases are you exaggerating!

So. Moms. Am I the only mom who uses potty time as a chance to sit down and get two minutes of privacy?

I was 'pottying' and pondering this today.

I read in a book the other day, a lady telling a friend that she could come into the potty with her. She said, "I'm not sure I could go anymore if nobody followed me in." LOL!

Between the cats and the kids, that's they way I felt for some time. Now the kids are older and don't follow me but the cats are still at it!

:rose:

In most states in this country (US), it's considered child abuse these days to sedate children for other than medical necessity.

You don't give them it for the sedation. You give them benedryl cause it helps with the pressure in their ears. As told to me by my daughters PEDIATRICIAN when I had to fly with her.

Of if anyone asks, that's why. :D

Oh, and a hint from one mom to the other if you want the kids to leave you alone on the pot don't shut the door. That makes them curious. If you leave the door open then you will get about two minutes before someone hits/laughs at/sticks their tongue out at someone else and they come storming in to tell you all about it.

But those are a precious two minutes.

ETA: K (who's on a military base in Georgia) said to someone today that he had to 'go potty'. The man said "Potty? Can't tell you've got kids!" K laughed and said 'it's a real test of one's masculinity if you can say potty and not be embarrassed.' LOL

My husband's done this, too! (Although, it does sound funnier happening on base).

A couple years back he had a 45 minute commute to/from work each day. One morning he had gotten to work and then realized he'd been singing along with the Princess and the Pauper soundtrack, even though he'd dropped the girls off at the daycare near our home 30 minutes prior.

I dunno. The soundtrack the princess and the pauper is REALLY GOOD. You can't blame him, really.
