Moments with LL

Do you ever dry your surplus tomatoes? We started drying our own, especially towards the end of summer and early fall, when you and every neighbor has tomatoes out the gills. Slice them and dehydrate them. They are wonderful on sandwiches, and wraps.

I have no earthly idea why I am posting this. :) I guess you're infectious.:D

tomato

Tomatoes are making me post this.

Exactly how do you dehydrate them? I usually freeze some for spagetti sauce and fry up the green ones. Can tou lay them out in the sun?

We finally started using a dehydrator, but we have used the oven for dehydrating lots of other fruits and things. An electric oven set at its lowest baking temperature...door propped open, will do nicely. If you slice your tomatoes rather thin, it takes less time for the moisture to come out. I haven't tried the sun, but I think it would do nicely. Air circulation is important. Laid out on cookie sheets and covered with some cheese cloth? I think it would work well.

...Now I've got to find the dishwasher. I think she is on strike. :D
When she's done there do send her along my way, LL. Tell her it's not about dishes, and to wear that "same red outfit."

Cool. Like oven idea.

For outside I was thinking a piece of window screen on a wood frame. This would allow for good air circulation from underneath.

Have 14 plants going so am pleased to hear any preservation ideas. Thanks.

spelling

Don't worry about spelling ,we had vice pres who didn't know!

I told her and well... she is still on strike so I had to do them myself. I could come in her place... :D
Good, reliable help is so hard to find. Tell her, if you're so inclined, that she's off the list, LL. You, of course, are welcome in any outfit you choose, or none at all.

I will probably stick with my birthday suit. ;)
That's fine, LL, very fine. Now can you possibly explain to me what in blazes PV just said?

I have a guess, but it seems too obvious.

A kid'll eat the middle of an oreo first, and save the chocolate cookie outside for last.

Playfully eating the middle would be letting the inner kid out, yepper. I'm busily imagining the chocolate cookie outside, though, and not sure I can save it for LAST... hm...

Nope, calling you tasty.

Wondering if you're cream filled.

Imagining licking... um...

Nope, calling you tasty.
