Modem users, is all well in Lit land tonight?

Hi All!

We are trying to get the forum to rock a little faster. To that end, we've made some changes to the MySQL configuration. We are killing open connections a lot faster than we were before. This should free up some resources, but it is also possible that people on a slower connection may notice some strangeness. If it does cause any problems, then we will roll back the changes.

Here is what to watch for tonight:

1. MySQL Error Messages.

2. Pages that don't load all the way.

3. Any page that hangs while sending and doesn't render properly.

If you see any of the above, or any other strange errors, please post about it here in this thread so I can investigate.

We just turned this on a few minutes ago, so get ready!

good to go mainly..

i'm on an external little modem box that i plug into the computer and the phone line.
i'm also O/S..the board is much faster
the only problem i've had so far is in trying to load the search by author pages on the story index.
It does work, but the text wrap is funny/disjointed and the blue and white literotica small print background is "ghosting"

Someone asked what kind of modem - the reason that I was asking about modem users is because they have a slow connection and that usually required the connection to the server to be open longer, which means they would probably be the ones to have problems with this specific change if anyone has problems.

Are there any New Zealanders here right now? We had some problems with people in New Zealand not getting in earlier today and I'm wondering if any of you Kiwis eventually made it?

Yeah, sure, Next time I will. IT happens sporadically and I just hit back and resubmit my reply (When the browser holds it in the form) and then it usually works without a hitch.

I'm on DSL. I havnt noticed any specific problems but I get pages that do not load totally often. I then reload the page in order to see the entire thread. This is common for me but I'm not complaining....I am a multiple window abuser.

My post went away......I was thinking that perhaps it was a bit too much for an adult site,but after seeing this perhaps it was just a bug...

To be more specific,after hitting submit I got the error page.

Oh and I have dsl if that makes any difference.

Oh and may I mention that I love getting the notices when people post,however for tonight(oops this morning here) I am getting 5 or 6 emails about the same post. On lots of different threads,so its adding up. Since I was already complaining,I'd thought I'd add this too.

I seem to be having a bit of trouble posting reply's. After a good deal of time a screen comes up teling me to report my problem to the admin.

Hey Manu!

I just saw this post this morning... Sorry! I'm actually here via a DSL connection with SBC. But a few times last night I had problems where a post would not submit, and had a couple of error pages where I ended having to close the browser altogether, and re-enter in order to get it working again. Seemed to be a transitory thing though. So perhaps it occurred while you were making your config changes.

Just thought I'd mention it...
