Ah its been years since I saw that film, wayyyyyyyy before I was actively sub but I saw it the other night and goddamn.
Ok ok I know its not real and the purists here will prolly have a field day with it but man was I so so horny afterwards.

Master and I got it from Netflix a few months ago. I got a real kick from it, as a fiction film and suspending all disbelief (though the club scenes did remind me a lot of a local show here they call Purgatory). Can't say it made me horny though. :)

Bought the video a few years back because I loved it in a quirky, fuzzy warm feeling kind of way. Didn't get me turned on though.

Whats this movie about, and why havent I seen it?

I can't answer your questions. They are mine as well. But by accident this morning, when I was looking up another film I hadn't seen in many years and wanted a refresh on (Black Orpheus), I came across almost 500 crisp stills from this movie as well on an enthusiast's site:

I couldn't grasp much of the plot by looking at the stills, but they were pretty, and clearly about bdsm or fetish people.

They also had lots of crisp stills of Black Orpheus on the site, which made me happy. :)

If you have a Netflix account, I recommend putting it in your que. It really is a fun movie, if you put all the seriousness of BDSM aside for the time you watch it :)

*I particularily loved the horse and carriage scene lol*

oh baby...

i love that movie. it's a british film about a man (vanilla guy who works for the british govt.) who has to go undercover to get evidence that this "ungodly" lifestyle should not be upholded. well as he gets deeper and deeper into the lifestyle he falls for the "Queen" and so begins a love/hate relationship that really touches you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE. TEN WHIPS. absolutely good stuff.

p.s. their is a place based in england called the Torture Garden (type it in your search engine) it's a damn blast. and very very very similar to the club in the movie.

Though a British comedy angle at it's best, and stereotyping in developing the male sub from a young vanilla who was fairly under mother's control and influence, there are underlying themes which I think many struggle with in their own journey. In particular the 2 which stood out for me were first the realisation all was not evil and bad and the transition process....the curiousity mixed with the semi resistance and fear...second was the Domme realising her perfect formula which negated love with a male slave/sub was not going to continue, albeit the situation was presented in a less controlled manner than most Domme's would like...the end result was an acceptance love could exist and making it fit the relationship, incorporating parenthood also into the equation. Definately a movie which can be relaxing or thought provoking depending on your mood at the time.
