MMF Bisexual category?

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here and my first story's first feedback comment was that my MMF bisexual story was not appropriately categorized as "group sex." The commenter said my story was Gay and should be posted in the Gay category. But my story was not gay, it was about a married man's first gay encounter in the context of a threesome with his wife and another man.

Where should I have listed my first story? I found other MMF bisex stories in the group archive. Was I wrong to put it there?

Any guidance would be warmly appreciated.

A lot of readers think that group sex means purely heterosexual group sex and that anything involving man-and-man sex (though, tellingly, not usually woman-on-woman sex), be it a first time or experimentation or in a group, should be in gay male. The reason they want it there is because it turns them off. They want pure hetero sex and lots of it, and they want to be warned if there's any gay male sex so they can avoid that group sex story and go onto another.

Now there are gay male stories that involve guys who are in threesomes, or wives/girlfriends watching. So the real question is, was the story more about this guy getting it on with the other guy, having that first time sexual experience than it was about the threesome? If it was more about his bi-sexual exploration, with the woman watching or just getting herself off, then your readers might be right in saying this was more gay male.

If it was a true threesome, then I think you put it in the right category.

I write almost all MMF bi stories and I've gotten this same kind of feedback. I'd ignore it. Any critical feedback I've gotten was from people who read the story all the way through and then became offended by the subject matter. The one thing I try to do to cut down on this is to make sure that my description explains that the story will be bi. Some people still won't get it, but most readers do.

It's partly because some people don't grasp the concept of bisexuality. If a guy is doing another guy, he is assumed to be gay, even if he is actually bi.

I put my MMF bisexual stories in the GM category, but with a warning of a het scene and the appropriate story tags for the search engine as per Laurel the editors suggestion. That story today is rated good, earned H, but it is still one my lowest rated.

I can't stand bisexual male sex in stories, but I would still agree that your story should be in the Group Sex section. My guess would be that gay men don't want to read about the woman in the story just as much as the men don't want o read about the gay stuff.

Well, then definitely stay away from my stories. You don't want to be one of those guys who emails me, irate that my story has made them suddenly go gay.
