Missing Cats: Part 2

I didn't want to ever get to the end of this thread, thinking the worst. But, I do love happy endings.

I once had a pure bread persian. He was white and his parents were champions. But I got him for free, because he came out deaf, as they were trying to get a white cat with blue eyes. His were green. Oh, his father's picture is on Hallmark cards.

Anyway, he got out of the house, once. None of my cats have ever been outside cats, because of fleas and because I don't like scraping loved ones up off the city streets.

He was gone for 24 hours, and I was sick with loss. But, he came back. The neighbors called me as they saw him prancing up their drive. It was a nice warm summer evening and he looked like he was satisfied that he had accomplished something ... well, not that satisfied as he had been fixed years ago.

But, I know the feeling of a lost pet returning. It's sure a great feeling. I'm glad your baby is back. Now be sure to check ALL of those screens. Cats are smart and once they know something works and the urge comes again ...

Glad to hear he's back :) He sure is a cute kitty. I remember when I was younger we had to give our cat away :( I was distraught for weeks.

:catroar: I will also say I am glad to hear he is back. :cathappy: I have beautiful little baby I like to call Asia ( and she might even answer to it if she feels like it). I use to commonly let her out on the deck which had baby gates on it, I always thought (I had her for 6 years) she knew how good (correct....great) she had it and never bothered to jump the aby gates (this would take her to a step...which one depends on how high she would jump). I would go about he house and feel she was safe till a few weeks ago (end of May, holiday weekend).
I went to check on her once and saw her on the planter shelf. I hopped the baby gate and walked in front of her, she knew she was in trouble and immediately climbed back into the deck ( used the area under the railing). I blocked the area and let her remain out since I knew she loved it out there. Went back inside and looked outside about 15 minutes later and found NO Asia. I searched my back yard, under my cars and around the area. Finally found her under the deck, she eventually came over to me.
Since then she has been outside once, under supervision. She has shown me at that time how she gets out (yes, she wants to go under the deck that bad). I love her an know how much she loves to go outside (she shows it to me everyday when she sits at the back door and cries while I have my coffee). I have to really rework the deck so she has no way of getting out.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on for this long, but I know how you feel. I want to keep my kitty caged for life, but she loves the outdoors.
PS. SHE DOESN'T HAVE FRONT CLAWS

Somehow, I don't think that Grendel will ever go outside again except under force (i.e. in a carrier) because he won't even go to that side of the kitchen unless he's really thirsty, cuz the waterbowl is right under the windows LOL
