Minnesota district restores prayer to public school — but only for Muslim students

Diversity

Tolerance

Multiculturalism

The New Face of America and why I converted.

(So that I can be more equal than any of the other barn-yard residents.)

I'd have thought you'd be happy about that.
Now all the non-Muslim kids will get ahead because they aren't wasting their time talking to the invisible sky man.
Think of how much valuable education time those Muslim kids will miss out on. That's got to hurt their test scores.

The article is three paragraphs long. Two of them are only one sentence. And still, BB didn't read it.

Here is the entirety of the article from your link

Buried deep in a PBS article about how the St. Cloud, Minn., school district is accommodating a large Somali population was a telling example of religious bias. While public schools have appropriately been barred from leading students in corporate Christian prayer, this district is going out of its way to satisfy the desires of the Muslim community.

“In the district’s middle and high schools,” the report stated, “Muslim students have access to private rooms with prayer rugs for the five daily prayers.”

Furthermore, Muslim kids will have access to special lunchroom menus and other faith-based perks not extended to students of other faiths.

Where does it say the district "restores prayer to public school"?

It says the district provided a room for them to pray in. That's legally distinct from "leading students" in prayer.

Further, the article takes issue with "special lunchroom menus... not extended to students of other faiths" That's simply not true. Granted, I'm only familiar with two school districts, one suburban and one rural, but both offer kosher meals.

The Somali's didn't request, it was given...

"While St. Cloud works to support the English-language development of its students, district officials say it has been just as important to make Somali students and their families feel welcome in schools and part of the community, which remains a work in progress.

"In the district’s middle and high schools, Muslim students have access to private rooms with prayer rugs for the five daily prayers. Districtwide, school lunch menus provide pork-free options for students, and staff members try to spur the newcomer students’ interest in sports, culture clubs, and other extracurricular activities to develop connections beyond the classroom."

... by the liberal educational establishment.

If a Catholic student wants fish instead of meat on Friday, then it is bag lunch time.

When I was a kid, fish was served on Fridays...

;) ;)

Now, they cater to the minority.
