I'm just curious to see how many here have served or are currently serving their country. This includes the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, etc. It does NOT include civilian contractors working for the military.

And thank you all for your service!

I'll start: I was a soldier from '88 to '96. I started as an Aircraft Powertrain Repairer in Texas, then went to Flight School and finished as a Chief Warrant Officer in Kentucky, with various stops along the way. ;)

Enlisted Marine of the 2005 vintage. Med discharge. Nothing combat related.

Wish I could contribute...just a USMC brat turned traitor and I'm a prior USAF wife.

I do love our military members, and their service & sacrifice are appreciated.

Retired Air Force here. Enlisted in 1981 and wanted to see the world. Hit 49 out of 50 states and 6 out of 7 continents. Maybe someday I'll get to North Dakota and Antarctica.

Retired navy chief. Served from 75-95.
Been on 4 ships: Plymouth Rock, Ricketts, Vulcan and Virginia.
Been 3 shore commands: Willow Grove,Pa., Sugar Grove,WV., NROTC Virginia Tech.
Most of ship tours been: North Atlantic, Meds, Caribs and Persian Gulf.
Been in 4 wars.
What respect do we get after we retired?

Former Army here...3d ID, medically discharged after getting my ass kicked by a missle just south of Baghdad back in 03.

Army Paratrooper, reservist 86-95.. unfortunately can't divulge unit or occupational specialty... joined as enlisted man even though the recruiter wanted me to go directly to OCS. Ended up as a buck Sergeant (E-5)

The unit disbanded because a congressman realized Reserves can't have Combat units and my occupational specialty is the ultimate oxymoron.

Bitter? Not one bit I would do it all over again!
