Was recently gifted with a headset/mike, and would appreciate any tips, advice, recommendations on your preferred channels of one-on-one communcation. Thanks!:)

like which service to use?

I dont' know, as I've never gotten it to work, but I know that yahoo has voice chat on it, and I'm sure ICQ type of things do, but I'm not on those. Not much help. but perhaps download.com can help you with a serch on software that does voice IM's.

You can also look into Netmeeting...it's a Microsoft prog :)

MSN IM has the capability for voice chat. Have used it a couple of times. Not as good as a phone, but if you are calling some one long distance it is better than those charges! I don't use it much, as I feel strange talking to my computer, but, hey it's not for everybody.

NetMeeting is more for people with webcams, though it does have voice capability. But MSN IM already has it without you having to utilize NetMeeting.

Not sure about Yahoo or ICQ or any others. Good luck!

AIM, YIM, MSN IM, Netmeeting, and Dialpad.com all have voice communications. Netmeeting is generally run through an IM service, or other host.
