Might we take the AH to sea?

I thought this might be a means of gathering Litsters together for a cruise ship vacation and having been on two of them with Carnival Lines, and finding them most enjoyable, a twenty-four hour a day smorgasboard of fun and frolic.

I was surprised at the article, especially Freidman and Libertarianism and even good old Classical Economics thinking, right down my alley.

Having lived on the ocean, on a sailboat, for a couple of years, it is the neverending motion of the ocean that would most likely put the kibosh on the floating city idea. It is fine for a while, but humans are not built to live in constant motion for long periods of time, methinks.

Thanks for the piece...interesting...

I wonder how many pieces of really open water will not suffer the storms and enormous waves ?

None, I'm afraid. Notice that even the writer states that all the dreamers are landlubbers. The Sea giveth and the Sea taketh away. Every year my dive club loses either a member or someone we know. It ain't the newbies, either. Mama will know. Mama will get you!

I thought this was going to be about a litogether on board a cruise ship!

Sounds like a wonderful idea but just a bit pricey . . . unless . . . we could perhaps do a LitWest on a cruise to Ensenada and back. I think it's only three days and since everything is included, might not be so bad. Hmmmm . . .

I just did a price check on cruise lines out of L.A. We can get a five-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera and back for under $400. Since that includes all meals, it really is cheaper than Chicago . . . at least for those of us on the Left Coast. You listening Stella? 3113? John?

*LEFT* Coast? I thought only East Coast people used that term. :p

For information only; because I advertised on my radio program, I received two complimentary tickets including air fare for each 50 listeners who signed up. So whoever might want to organize such an excursion might well go for free, minus drinks in the lounge and gambling cash, of course...:)
