I used to be able to see Michigan from my apartment along Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Especially during thunderstorms over the lake. The sight was spectacular.

I grew up in one of those tiny towns that if you blinked, you were already into the next county. We had a very large Amish population in our little country town. The whole while I grew up, no stoplights, no turn lanes. Old buildings that reminded you of years gone by. Cool thing is, I found out over the last 10 years, they are restoring the main part of town back to what it was. I kinda miss it there, but I'm kinda glad to be gone.
