He really really is!

Just came back from his booksigning at my local bookshop, which is coincidentally also his local bookshop, so he often has readings and signings there, and he is always lovely and warm and charming and funny, and I just adore him.

And, now I've got a signed copy of his Sahara book personalized for my dad, so that's one more Christmas gift to tic off the list.:)

You're giving your Dad a tic?

*grin*

He was great in his pole to pole show.

That's awesome. He's one of the reasons I don't hate all British men. He and my ex are old boys from the same school. I like Michael. As previously posted, my ex has been banished to a lower level of hades.

He's a lumber jack and hes ok! He sleeps all night and works all day!!!

And he puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars.

Yep, the shows and the books are always great. Actually he mentioned something tonight about Pole to Pole, about he actually at one point on that trip (when the pilot was trying to alnd the plane in the dark on a little teeny postage stamp sized ice flow, in a heavy wind) thought "This is it, I'm going to die, here at the North Pole. Well, I guess that's sort of romantic- but AAAAAAARRRRSSSSSE!"

This will actually be the third book of his I've had signed as a Christmas gift for my dad (Pole to Pole and the Hemingway one are the others). Becoming a bit of a tradition in the family!

Shame on you! You're doing a HUGE disservice to the sweet singing folk of Wales!

It's when they stop singing that the sheep get nervous!:D

OMG -- I'm afraid this is going to dissolve into another Monty Python skit -- the exploding birds can't be far away, now...

No, not the exploding birds! Anything but that!

I'm off to watch Graham Norton.:rose:

And what about A Fish Called Wanda...do you remember him bumping off the dogs by mistake....and when he had the chips up his nose?:D

 time for the gay big brother I always wanted!

BTW I have met him as well and he is also a lovely man, a real darling, I do really wish I could adopt him as my brother.

Is that anything like birds that go Zoom? Because I only have one bird here, and it wouldn't ZOOM, if you put 10,000 volts through it. Dead, deceased, bereft of life he rests in peace. He's run down the curtain and gone to goin the bleeding chior invisible.

Imagin Michael lurking the Lit GB muttering to himself as he does, and finding out people are talking about how lovely he is!

*sings* oh brave brave sir robin, bravely ran away.....

Peachy, i am now extremely jealous of you.

From his "round the world in 80 days" to "round the rim" and now Sahara, he always seems to show what i think is him genuine self.

I remember one of the parts in "around the rim" where he met up with an english speaking japanese pyhton fan who showed him around tokyo.... you could see she was nervous as hell but his whole attitude put her at ease very quickly.

Yup, he really does seem like a "nice guy".
