Merging published stories

Is there a way to change the category of a previous posted story? I wrote a story as a one-off. Later, I got inspiration to follow the characters further. This second story I have structured as a multipart entry I am going to submit under Novels and Novellas. If it is possible, I would like to change the title and category of the first story to serve as a prelude to the second. I know I could kill the story and resubmit, but it is my first "Hot" story, and I would love to maintain its stats.

You can change category by resubmitting the story, same title plus the word EDIT, and include a Note to the Editor. Unless it's Incest or Non-Con, Laurel will probably agree (but might not, it's her final call).

I don't think you can change the story title and keep your meta-data, but no harm in asking - explain in the Note what you want to do, and ask Laurel if it's possible.

Edit: I've just read the FAQ - It appears you can change the title, using the Edit process just described

Oh good - I've got one title that needs a change. You'll need to be patient Mal - it can take a couple of weeks if the editors have a heavy workload
