Meredith Baxter Goes Public!

Huh, who knew?

I surely hadn't a clue.
(maybe my 'gaydar' needs charging)
Anyways, I always considered her and still do, an underappreciated actress.
Soo talented.

I sometimes wonder if for women there are more people like the actress, Cynthia Nixon. (Sex in the City star.) The following is from her wiki entry:

"...Discussing her relationship in an interview in New York Magazine in 2006, Nixon stated that she never felt any struggle with her sexuality: "I never felt like there was an unconscious part of me around that woke up or that came out of the closet; there wasn't a struggle, there wasn't an attempt to suppress. I met this woman, I fell in love with her, and I'm a public figure."[12] In an interview in May 2007, she said:
“ In terms of sexual orientation I don’t really feel I’ve changed... I’d been with men all my life, and I’d never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn’t seem so strange. I’m just a woman in love with another woman.[10]..."

For so many guys (especially non-gay guys) it is such a taboo to have feelings for another man. It is considered emasculating. While women can be severely criticized if they don't behave a certain way, it seems to me that those judgments are based more on others who are pissed that the woman in question didn't curtsy in the right fashion to please someone else. It isn't so much judged solely on the gender of the person that the women has relationships with. For example, Hillary always gets the shaft for not being "softer". Like she isn't some real woman because she doesn't bake cookies and serve milk or because she didn't limit her interests to things like picking out china & silverware. If she would have been found out to be a lesbian, it would just have been more of the same. Where as a guy has more leeway in his behavior as long as he doesn't start wanting to be with a man.

Well said!

Of course, I believe if we all bought more shoes, the world would be a better place.
