I apologise if this has been covered before... I am 45 and in menopause. I am finding that my orgasms are loosing all intesity. I am looking for advice from other women. I have had breast cancer and chemo put me in menopause at 42.

I still have a high libido, and enjoy sex, with no problems regarding lubrication, or arousal. Rather my orgasms are not the same, they are much milder almost non descript. Has anyone had this happen and know of a way to get the old 'spark' back??? I would do anything to have a tsunami orgasm again, rather than the low tides I've been getting for the last few years.

I'll add that because my cancer was ER+ I cannot take HRT or estrogen, rather I have to tough the symptoms out :( Im not even aloud to take a soy suppliment. Perhaps others have been in a similar situation.

To be honest Im considering trying anal sex (big issue for me), but its a different orgasm and perhaps that will work????

Geeez

I wish I could provide some good MEDICAL advice. Have you askked your doc about this - specifically. There may be hormones that you could try that would only afffect orgasms and not endanger you by stimulation of (bad) cell growth.

My apologies for pushing my passion but have you tried G-Gasms. Anal sex will likely stimulate your Aspot and it may feel good but from what you describe your fuel is low (hormones) and that is what's causing the hohums when it cums to sex. Gand A -gasms can stimulate natural hormone production like nothing else the body can do next to pregnancy. It is worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

Another thing I'd suggest is exploring fantasies with your SO. Living a fantasy or three MAY trigger additional hormone production as your brain is where all that is controlled from anyway.

Do your OWN research on the net too. There must be others who have experienced the same conditions and they may have the answer.

Best of luck.

If you aren't in the habit of getting much exercise, you might try that. It's not going to replace the hormones you're missing but it stimulates others and tends to lead to stronger orgasms.

Thank you for your replies, Mr G, Kimbernee and Cattypuss I really appreciate them.

No I dont do alot of exercise, so I'll certainly take that on board and start getting more active.

To be honest the drs aren't that helpful, Im in Australia. I do my pelvic floor exercises but I have never heard of the Kegelmaster so I'll start googling those ideas.

Again thank you for your advice .. hopefully your links and ideas will give me some answers.

Exercise won't help. Neither will kegels, or more sleep, or different sexual techniques or even good thoughts.

(I'm not slamming the advice given, please understand.)

What you need is hormonal replacement therapy.

Here is a thread I started about a month ago.

I have the same thing, same issues. I've been on hormonal treatment for five months. Things are still not back to normal, but I've made great progress.

You must talk to your doctor, and then to a terrific pharmacist.

Good luck to you.

Edited to add - because of the cancer history in my family I am on progesterone only - my pharmacist compounds plant hormones. No estrogen. But it is working.

Sweetsubsarahh,

thank you for your comments and understanding. I'll certainly raise it with my oncologists and hopefully I may be able to try this avenue.

I hope you can find some relief.

There have not been any major studies on bio-identical hormone replacement to tout their safety - too expensive to do - and the big drug companies sneer, but my doctor and my pharmacist swear by them.

Best wishes to you.

Edited to add: They are safe, there just haven't been studies to compare their safety with the hormones currently in use - the ones that are synthesized from pregnant horse urine. (Premarin = pregnant mare urine)

I just referred a colleague who is suffering from some of the same issues to my doctor. Do you know when she brought this issue up to her doctor, he congratulated her on bringing this to his attention, then gave her the name of someone to help teach her new masturbatory techniques.

She said - I don't need instruction on how to masturbate. Something is wrong, chemically, with my body because of the sudden hysterectomy I just had.

She changed doctors.

Sweets,

I empathise with your friend. I have found that my male doctors either feel that I shouldnt be interested in sex or that its somewhat amusing.

I mentioned to my doctor that I had hotflushes whenever I got excited. His reply was that men liked that sort of thing in their women. What the??

Its been that attitude thats made me very hesitant to raise orgasms. One of my oncs is a woman so I thought Id have a chat with her about it. I find it disheartening to have been someone who had orgasms easily, to now either having none, or just little ones.

Again thank you.

You are welcome. :rose:

It is so frustrating to not be taken seriously by doctors.

And as I mentioned on the other thread, the lack of orgasm is rarely even mentioned as a symptom of menopause, anyway.

They say - lack of libido - but they don't say Lack Of Orgasms.

Often the desire is there, but your body just won't cooperate.

And yet Viagra commercials are in the media 24/7. Hmmm. This is most unfair.

It both sucks and blows.
