As a teen, I remember one called Jontu. It was intoxicating and I have never been able to find it since.

For men, anything by Calvin Klein seem to agree with my senses, but Escape is still my favourite!

I've worn plain old body shop vanilla essence ever since junior high, and just found out they don't make it anymore!

Worth pointing out that the same perfume can have different results on different women or when smelled by different men. I prefer something really, really subtle and, if it comes down to it, Essence de Femme (the original, not the Hugo Boss stuff) takes some beating.

In my experience, men are dreadful judges of what will smell good on them. I certainly am if comments such as "did you pick up the air freshener by mistake?" are anything to go by.

It's not perfume so much, but rather shampoo that can drive me crazy. In the morning, standing behind a woman who is just the right height so that my nose is in her freshly shampooed and slightly damp hair drives me insane.

I actually can't stand most perfume or cologne.
It's all so acidic and chemically to me, annoys my nose.
I dislike being downwind of a woman and I can smell her perfume.
Not just immediatly behind her, like a city block downwind.

I really prefer a woman to just smell clean, or maybe a light, fresh scent from her body wash or spray or whatever.
The kind of scent you only smell when you're intimately close.
A soft lavendar or something of that range.

I could never wear cologne myself, I'd choke to death.
Nothing is worse than young guys who think bathing in Axe is appropriate ever.

I have been told I always smell good. Thanks to well applied deodorant and some Axe.

I was in the hospital one time and had to have a sponge bath. I still thought I was stinky so I doused my privates with Axe. My nurse said "you smell good my kids would love that ."

Yep her kids want to smell like an old white guy.

Allure from Chanel...so irresistible burying my face in my husband's collar and his beard. He has such an intoxicating natural scent but the warmth of his skin underneath his sweater brings out both scents in what I can only describe as magical. As for me, I fell in love with La vie est belle by Lancôme

You sound like my wife. She likes Calvin Klein Escape or Eternity on me , and I sometimes mix a spritz of each. She also likes me to use Obsession for men.

Old Spice gives me a rash.

I learned this when someone gave my dad some a rash one Christmas, not knowing he was apparently allergic to something in it.

He gave it to me and....apparently the allergy is genetic since it also gives me a rash.

My thoughts on perfumes..

Since I don't know names of different perfumes from anything else I really can't say what specific scent is a favorite. It also depends on the woman's chemistry. A perfume that smells good on one woman could smell like bug spray on someone else..

That being said, these are some rules about perfumes/colognes:

It should only be noticeable when you are in close proximity to the wearer. If I can smell it when you are more than 2 feet away you are probably wearing too much.

If it enters the room 5 minutes before you do and still lingers more than 10 minutes after you leave you are probably wearing too much or the scent is too strong for you..

If it makes my eyes water or nose tickle when riding in a car you probably have too much on.

A dab behind the ears or base of the throat. A dab between the breasts and possibly a dab just below the panty line is sufficient.
