That is, if a woman sees you as a sex object, is that an instance of female chauvinism? Is her seeing you/treating you as something less than an equally autonomous person with your own needs, views and feelings? Are made for lifetime movies (the kind aimed at straight females) inherently demeaning to men? Or just really bad movies?

My view is, of course males are sex objects to (most) females, that's just part of nature -- human nature, mammalian nature, vertebrate nature, probably invertebrate nature too.

Also post your naked pictures here.

Luv,

Birdy

Objectification can be a form of adoration.

As long as the keep stuffing dollars into my banana hammock, I am OK with it.

Haha... Have you been reading my thread?

That's what we say:cool:
Well at least I did and everyone agreed with me so that's the same thing right?

And ... Where's the chocolate option on the poll?

Indeed I did :D

So I'm adoring men instead objectifying them. That's a load off, I was worried.

I think we can do both, I think they can go hand-in-hand. :)

I think that objectifying a partner in a loving way can be a huge turn-on, and having the freedom to do that without worry of insult can strengthen the bonds of intimacy.

Frankly, I'm going to be more than a little bit disappointed if my future partner looks at me naked for the first time and doesn't think the equivalent of, 'OH, HELL YES.'

And I fully expect to be able to do the same for him.

The problem with most media in relation to men is that it sets up all men as so stupid that they're dependent on their spouse to literally keep them alive. Homer left Marge for like three hours and came back and literally had the line, "I'm sorry. My tattered rags are stuck on your coffee table." Even competent men would be dead- Tony Stark's heart stopped while he was waiting on Pepper to put in a new core for his reactor. He owns a multinational weapons manufacturing company. On almost every show it's some dumbass with a competent wife. And I'm not sure why. I constantly wonder how those people got together. The only couple I can think of with comparable levels of intelligence, that I understand, is Roseanne and Dan. I understand why they're together.

But as far as the guys who are there to be eye candy, in just normal media, I can dig that unless they do something super fucked up with it. I was all about Darian/Tuxedo Mask until he fucked his daughter. Like yes, I get that he's there just to plow Usagi, but did we really need the Wicked Lady arch? Like what did that bring to the table? And he was also strait-up raped there and they just kinda let it go. They don't acknowledge that their daughter is a rapist.

But when we get into things like the Prince of Persia slowly stripping for no real reason except fan service, I feel exactly the same that I do for female half-naked video game protagonists- I'm strongly in favor of it. If Kratos wants to run around in a loincloth or Link wants to strip down to Sumo wrestle, let them. It doesn't hurt anybody. And I think that people are able to separate fact from fiction enough to know that real men aren't built like gladiators or elven warriors. I think that people have the ability to separate fact from fantasy.

But I am playing RF4 right now and that game's all about the male objectification. And I think it's weird that in the reviews from that game, the only complaint that you see about that is that men folk complain that it makes them feel gay. Like they think that male sexualization = gay, rather than geared towards the women folk. Because it' not gay. I can give my man Dylas as many fish as I can catch as I'm still not getting the horse cock. Which is bullshit.

NO YOU GET IN BED AND FUCK ME! YOU HAD AN INTRO SCENE THAT EMPHASIZED YOUR SEXUALITY!

I like that, that's a good way to put it objectifying in a loving way. Lust for each other should be fueled and fed. A two-way street.:)
