My dad is in an assisted living facility in memory care. Also among the residents in that wing is a woman who screams and cries when she sees me. Apparently, I resemble her late husband. It's rather sweet and a little depressing and it's led to some awkward hugs. Now I call ahead and make sure she's somewhere else when I visit.
But it's also a story idea. You enter the memory care to see _____ and you are approached by someone who thinks that you are their former lover.

I was leaving dad's room when a woman approached me with a grave expression. She was pushing a walker, wearing a pink sweatshirt. "Are you visiting our daughter?" She asked me.
From experience I knew that it's often just best to go along with whatever the other residents say so I nodded. "Yep. All the time."
Her face softened and she reached out and touched my arm. "That's good. You know, I still think about what we did when I was your father's concubine."
My jaw dropped. Concubine? What?
Feel free to add your ideas of what you find out from these residents.
