This is the nonerotic version of sexycanadianguy's thread about teen memories.

What place brings back the best memories for you?

The other day MP asked about The Varsity in Atlanta and I gave a little update and a link to their site and that brought back so many memories for me.

In high school any excuse to go downtown, concerts, Braves games or just a joyride, ended with a stop at The Varsity. Most all of the really fun memories that I have off my teen years end at The Varsity. We even went there after the prom, all dressed up. I always got a cheese dog, onion rings and a frozen orange.

Their website has wonderful audio that goes along with it and if I close my eyes I can almost smell the onion rings.

If you cannot access their site let me share this paragraph with you to show you how amazing it is. If you are ever in Atlanta I reccomend a visit there.

"The World's Largest Drive-in sits on more than two acres and can accommodate 600 cars and over eight hundred people inside. On days of Georgia Tech football games up to 30,000 people visit The Varsity.

It sells more than two miles of hotdogs daily, a ton of onion rings, 2500 pounds of fresh cut potatoes, 5000 homemade fried pies, and 300 gallons of chili, all of which are made from scratch daily. The downtown Varsity is also the world's largest single restaurant outlet for Coca-Cola."

An old train station in downtown Philly (which is no longer used). I came through that station:
with my father and mother to see the Christmas decorations in town, historical sites and museums,
with my young friends to shop,
with my older friends to clubs,
with my dates to restaurants,
with myself for work
with my young children to show them the Christmas decorations in town, historical sites and museums
with my teenagers to shop....

I thought all of Atlanta was a Coca-Cola outlet since I have never been able to buy another make of soda in the entire town. ;)

No PepsiCo owns Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut you can get Pepsi in all their restaurants.

Burn them down! Burn them down! Are you with me? Burn them down!

Being 5 years old, having just gotten my allowance...walking down the street to the corner store and buying a big bag of penny candy...then crossing the street to the bakery..and buying this huge cookie for a nickel...well perhaps it wasn't really that big, but when you are 5 is it :)

Being sent to the gas station with a gallon can and a quarter, then getting spanked for spending the change on candy on the way home.

"Ken's", the store where I spent the change was on the corner by the grade school. It's been gone for a long time now, but it was THE place for candy and sodas on the way home from school. The amount of candy that could be purchased for a nickel would fill a trick-or-treater's bag to the brim.

I would have to say........ That the best memories that I have as a Teen was going up to the U.P. with My dad going fishing and touring the Upper Peninsula and showing me wheere he was born and actually sharing part of his life with me for a change..
