Meeting ADR

Ohh is that so? I think that could be cool, and I'm wanting to go to NYC again, to explore it again, while I'm not sick!

Great :)

It would be so good to meet up with you again.

I love travel, I just need to start saving.

I'm glad to hear you had a wounderful time.
I really wish that me and Agie would have been able to meet up with you. Hopefully there will be more oppertunites.

Caz I may be heading to Ayshire in Oct I will be sure to let you and JockDom know well in advance.

I can also drive over to Edinburgh, it has been a while since I was there and I have never spent time exploring it.

I would love a tour guide, it was really great to meet you in Feb and would hope that we can meet up again at some point.

Nax it would be good to meet you too, it is such a pity you had to work this time round.

But there will always be other times, I hope
Great!

Just give me a shout if you are coming up!

:D

Would be good to see you again!

:rose:

I will be sure to.

I have some annual leave I need to take and I don't want to wait until it is freezing cold to take it!

You are so lucky Des.

ADR is so much fun, anyone who meets her is lucky. I just love laughing with her.

She is more fun to laugh with than anyone I know! I'm so glad you guys are having a great time. She's been anticipating this for so long.

She is fun.

I have to go back to work, so can't spend the rest of her trip with her.

I spoke to her tonight though.

As long as you don't ask her about trying to get the laundry done..... The Brits nearly drove her insane over it.

OWWWWW!!!

:(

I don't recall it all

Really I don't.

Nope, no

No Suree.

I do not recall teasing you about Star Trek and conventions.

Never, ever, ever.

Why does ADR have to be on holiday, instead hear protecting me from the scary Danish Dom?? :(
Allow me to refresh your memory
This is someone I have wanted to meet for a long time, longer than I have known Andante. The same man who owes me a spanking for teasing him a long time ago!!!!

*peeks into the thread, sees SG raising his hand and backs out the door again*

Coward! lol

I spoke to ADR yesterday, she is still having a fine time.

I do worry about her though, I think she is planning more sightseeing around London today.

I look forward to hearing how she found that.

She did tell me she thinks London is a clean city!
I was gobsmacked, I think it is really unclean.

OOO... NYC sounds like fun... I always like excuses to go there.. I am gonna be in vegas in sept, but it'll only be for a day or two so seeing ADR prob wont be an option :(

Shy.... Keep me posted with your trips around the UK, and I'll do the same for you and hopefully we can meet at some point in the near future.... Maybe with some other peeps too. But NYC sounds like fun if I can fit it in... I'm there in Dec if thats any good to anyone! lol.

ADR... if she ever pops on this thread... Its a shame I couldnt meet you and Shy... Maybe one day though.. Sounds like I need to get to know you more too, I feel like I am missing out! :rose:

Did someone mention my driving?

HA!

Drive with shy. This woman was never under 90mph!

I checked. We never left England. And we were never on the autobahn (is that the correct spelling?) After she regaled us with stories of being stopped for speeding (and very effectively crying her way out of one ticket) and other stories I won't retell here because I won't ruffle her angel wings in front of the masses and after the second time that I suggested she might not want to get a ticket, I decided to shut up because I'm not her mother nor am I old enough to be. I went to sleep instead. ;-)

You know though, she is the most MARVELOUS friend and hostess and tour guide anyone could possibly have.

We can't thank her enough for all the time and efforts she put forth for us. Jane and I cried when we had to tell shy goodbye. And we are already planning on next year's trip back to England.

It was wonderful to meet Velvet, too and so nice of her to make the major trek into the city to meet us. Thank you for that. :rose:

The English are very helpful and nice. The food was outstanding. We have great stories and pictures and memories of it all.

Oh and one word:

STONEHENGE

We came over the hill and before I could catch my breath, Jane and shy both said "Rox- Mom, there it is!" and There it was!!!!

Nothing I can remember has ever moved me so as seeing that.

Wow!

That sounds like an incredible trip!

:rose:
It so was incredible and it's no secret that I'm a lover of "all things British". When we asked each other what our favorite thing was... we couldn't say. EVERYthing was our favorite thing. But hands down... Stonehenge was my very own make a wish foundation dream come true and being able to see it with shy made it all the more special.

Don't think you can do your own laundry, though, unless you're luckier than I was. We spent 2 hours walking around in a not so great part of our little town, toting 2 bags of laundry and never found a "launderette". We were directed to lots of dry cleaners, though (all closed because it was Sunday.) It was misty and windy and just not pleasant outside. I had checked with our hotel and they had laundry service but it would've cost us $200 USD to have done so I opted to find a laundromat. As I said, No luck with that. We finally went back to the room and I said "you know one shift (at work) would pay for this laundry and I'm fucking sending it out!!! I've had enough!" I sorted only the clothes we absolutely needed to finish out the trip and it still cost me $150. But by that point it was worth it.

The hotel housekeepers don't speak English... just like in Las Vegas. LOL And almost no one understood what we meant by "wash cloths, please". We only had them one day and then no one ever seemed to understand that request again. Ha!

I took off for England with an abcessed tooth, chipmunk face and lots of antibiotics and pain pills. Then on Monday, I took a header in front of an astonished crowd of outside cafe patrons. Landed on my face, bent my sunglasses and ended up with a sprained left wrist and a fat lip. And no applause, even. Thank God I had pain pills because at this point they came in really handy.

Ah but it was all so wonderful and so unforgettable! And I want to go back again!

Sounds great except for the absess (I know how much that hurts), face plant and laundry issues! I'm jealous of ya but happy for ya!
