The ranting is okay. It's all part of freedom of speech. I don't look badly on anyone that disagrees with me. My only problem is when someone disagrees AND tries to take away my rights based on their beliefs.

You say that you don't understand. The only answer I can give to that is "if you have to ask the question, then you truly don't understand".

I will take issue with you calling guns evil though. A gun isn't evil. It is an inanimate object. It only does what it's operator does with it. A gun is no more evil than a car, an airplane, a knife or a baseball bat. All are simply a tool of the person using them.

Statistics don't tell the whole truth... you are more likely to be shot in the US than in Europe, Aussie/NZ, Japan, etc... Anyway, my major beef with this problem is the according to a bunch of statistics released the other day, in the US more kids (under 16's) are killed in a year than in the next 12 major western countries put together !!!

It can't be right to have that happening in any country, especially in a country I love as much as the US !!! Guns may be inanimate objects, but they ARE used to killed people... that is their modus operandi, the reason they exist... knives, planes, bats have other reasons for existance... a kid can't kill themselves with a Baseball bat... but you can't cut a steak with a gun... Therefore they can only be classified as evil in my eyes...

Anyway... enough of the gun talk... the reason I am on this thread (as are you all ) is to compliment Ms.36-29-36 on her wonderful piccys ... long may she continue !!!

Bod's forgetting that we (the USA) pulled the United Kingdon's balls out of the fire back in the 40s because England didn't have any guns... except old fowling pieces and other useless junk. English troops did marching drills with broomsticks and brooms because there weren't any rifles. Some of those now vintage Lee Enfields were built in the US, and British troops carried American rifles to fight Germany. Good job we didn't take Bod's advice back in the 30s, or Hitler's grandson would be ruling Germany's English territory! Ahhh, how soon we forget.

Here in the US we will continue to love our firearms because that's what separates citizens from peasants, pure and simple. I've been hoping for years that we would tell the UN where to go and kick them out of New York... and their "worldwide gun ban" may prompt just that. Think of all the parking spaces we'd save.
