McCain the Convert

Obviously, I am not a Bush supporter. But I think Americans got shafted in the last election - neither Bush nor Gore are anything to rev an engine over. McCain, on the other hand, has some verve, no matter which party he represents (though I just don't see him as a Dem - he's more of a party uniter kinda guy). I am looking forward to a time when both parties can be excited about their respective candidates again. This time around, it didn't matter which candidate won - the White House would be Dullsville either way.

He's said as late as today he's not leaving the republican party. If you can take him at his word. But you know how politicans are. Hillary said she would never run for president- ever.

Hillary doesn't have a chance as a presidential candidate, and she knows it. The ties to Clinton alone would impede her candidacy.

I think McCain is testing the moderate waters to see if he can get the swing moderate liberal vote. He knows he'll never win as a third party candidate, but if he builds up enough support then the GOP may back him instead of Bush.

And isn't it ironic that we're already talking about the next election? :D

Something happened in Nam. The longer this guy is on the scene, the more I distrust him. I disliked Clinton from the first, because I sensed what type of person he was and now McCain...

I could never bring myself to vote for him even being ex-military. I do not think he is trust-worthy. If there has to be a Republican in charge, I rather prefer the oft refered to as "stupid" Dubya any day. A dog-loyal idiot is better as an ally than an intelligent and ambitious hero.
