Mazda miata

Not really on topic but it reminded me, I saw a Fiero the other day. A regular old fiero, not a collector or some souped up version, a falling apart but still running piece of shit.
Not important but thought I'd mention it.

Had a mk4 MX5(R.O.W. naming i'm sure) soft top for 18 months - Cornwall, UK - we're more known for sandy beaches & rain, rather than winter conditions... But, salt air, live about 4 miles from the coast. Noticed no issues in the time I had it. Soft top needed a good scrub and pressure wash on occasion with a bit of green build up at the edges.

Owned one for almost 20 years. Great good-weather car. Fun to drive. I put mine in storage during the snowy months here in the U.S. Northeast.

Always reminds me of my Mom

My Mom had a dark green one with a tan top. She loved that car. Whenever I see one it just makes me miss her more.

in my old hometown there was a dude who drove an absolutely pristine red yugo at least twenty years after they stopped selling the fuckers in this country. it was honestly amazing. i have no idea who he was, but i'm pretty sure he's a god or a very frugal man who lives outside of time.

I live in the northeast states so was concerned about how the top holds up with snow

Get a hard top!

When you have a soft top, you should never lock the car door. A common thief will just slit the top and steal your stuff. There are removable hard-tops you can find, aftermarket.

My wife had one in the Northeast for about 10 years. Rear plastic window finally cracked but otherwise no problems whatsoever. Fabulous sports car. (I’ve had Triumphs and MGs and the Miata was far superior in every way.)
