I joined in April of 1999 (before the Forum Board was created, and I won't bother with the usual Lit History rundown about the old days because, really, who gives a fuck?) I joined during a period of writer's block. Writing erotica was freeing and writing my little stories behind an alias took all the pressure off and I snapped out of it. Always grateful for that. But lately my writer's block isn't really a block so much as it's an overriding sense of ennui about the point of it all. There is plenty of art out there, and more access to it now than ever before --- but it really seems like people are getting stupider. I'd write about it but I feel like it wouldn't change anything. I've come to the conclusion that stupid people are going to kill everybody. I wish art could save the world, but it can't.
