Got second shot (Pfizer) almost a month ago. Our state was able to open the vaccine up to everyone pretty quickly.

My wife and I both got our second shot on the same day. We both still wear our masks when out in public or when we are in the presence of strangers.

Next weekend I get my second. Open everything up...and play the odds like India. Only people that will get sick...or die...are those that choose those options. Darwinism at its grandest

We are starting to be more social. We still wear masks just because there is some science that says you can still "shed" the virus even after receiving the vaccination. I booked my first flight in over a year for a mini-vacation in August. We are just reaching a point where we have to start balancing our mental health with our physical health.

I'm getting tired of looking at our women and being reminded of Saudi Arabia and of Jessie James when seeing my fellow man. ;)

You get reminded of Saudi Arabia and Jessie James when you see Pelosi and Biden, without masks.

get my 2nd on the 12th :)

despite the trumpian element around these parts (and the inability of too many to even wear a mask right!), i've been pleased to see the queues of vehicles each time my loved ones at home have been getting their shots; i had mine done at walmart and there was a steady tick of people getting theirs, too.

Also at 5/1/21 the VAERS (vaccine adverse side effects database) has topped 118,000 reports, including over 3600 deaths reported (obviously not in the MSM). One disturbing trend is cardiac related issues in healthy males under the age of 30 (those otherwise most likely to recover from CV-19, 99.8%)

I am officially in the control group of the experiment.

FACT CHECK: How MAGA zealots manipulate the VAERS database to support their preconceived political biases :nana:

Got my first AZ vac on Tuesday. Could have got it about six weeks ago but circumstances intervened.

Over here we're a bit behind you over there, but everyone I know over 65 and/or working in medicine have had both, and all adults involved in pedagogy in whatever way at least the first shot. (Incidentally that already covers >85% of my extended family.) For me myself, it's next week a limited "free for all" slot hunt may come online, in parallel with the continued special groups program (where uptake had been less than ideal, overall).

Projections now say the USA will achieve some semblance of "herd immunity" by August 20th, but put an asterisk by this: the relative resistance of children 16 and under gives the USA a "20% immunity base" to start out with.

One good bit of news is that people dependent upon the VA for health care have a 79% vaccination rate as of today. For all the complaints about VA health care delivery, they've done a remarkable job with their vaccine distribution.

As usual, the troika of underachieving states (Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana) trail far behind the national average in immunization rate.

9 of the top 10 states in immunization rates are in the northeastern USA (the other is New Mexico).

Thanks to the leadership of President Joe Biden, America is finally putting the worst of the Corona virus behind us.

And California is now in the lower half of infected residents. Thank you, Governor Newsom and President Biden.
