Because what everybody looks for is not my cup of tea. And perhaps not yours either? I see nothing wrong in meeting a weirdo woman; for most likely you’d have to put up with a weirdo man in me. And quite frankly, I don’t understand why you and I should be looked at as weird.

Because what I crave in you, and in the connection I seek, is nothing that Mother Nature did not design men and women for. It only became forgotten with time. So maybe our problem is really a longing for old-fashioned attributes which used to make up connections. And do not any more today.

two kinds of people inhabit this world …. those who enjoy listening to others, and aim for understanding too, and those who never learned this and who are convinced that only their own thinking matters, and their own sensitivities.

James Comey, a former director of the FBI, observed in his memoirs that the first kind is very rare in politics; and that he had discovered this remarkable trait most in his wife and next in President Obama. OK, it never did Obama any good, as far as I can tell. But I hope that Comey and his wife are still happy with each other.

And I tick similar to Comey, when it comes to listening and responding. Better-knowing women sure are not my cup of tea. And neither is a woman who is not inclined to look beyond her own shadow. So there are not many women I genuinely like. With my whole heart, I mean.

But who knows, maybe today one such woman will stop by to read the Personals? And her being curious too, she’ll look at my profile also. Unlike another one who PMed me yesterday and immediately began talking about herself.
